Taking off the roof

Post by ol9fingers »

G'day,

Am looking to take the roof off my bj42..

Looks like some bolts, some small doors, and thats it. But, its the first major mod i'll have done, so any advice would be much appreciated. It's already got a roll bar, and i'm wondering if i have to tell the RTA about mods.

Cheers,

undo all the bolts that hold the hardtop to the tub from the seats to the back doors, undo the two bolts on the outside above the windscreen. undo the bolts on the corner of the windscreens

there will be about 10-15cm of tube that goes down inside the tub at the door latches.. remember this when lifting off the top (you will need to go straight up.. then off..

thats about all you need to do..

once the hardtop is off.. it will be a while till it goes back on! :P
