Has anybody had any experience with the new "shackle-less" snatch strap from Staun. They call them the Superstrap. From their website it seems you just weave the strap after threading it through the anchor point on the vehicle. Let me know what you think of them if you've used them. They got a good write-up 4x4 Gear magazine.
4wd monthly's snatch strap test had a similar strap in it..i think it faired ok from memory, but they did find that you needed to make sure you weave enogh of the strap back or it pulled apart..

As I'm new to the 4x4 game, what do you guys think about these straps? Would you prefer to use straps with shackles or the Staun Superstrap without shackles?? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each type?
"Nothing wrong with shackles OR proper recovery points. "
Not this argument again!!!
Shackles can break pretty easily in a SNATCH recovery. No it wont happen all of the time but it does happen. People have when the shackle fails and gets thrown very fast into their head!!
Nothing wrong with shackles,i wouldnt like to use the 3.2 tonne wons supplied in most recovery kits though. And i know about working loads and safety factors.
