Hilux v 60 Series - Ring and Pinion

I have a 4.88 R&P set from a hilux diff and am wondering if it will fit in a 60 series rear? I have a suspicion that the 60 series centre is larger and assume that means the r&p won't transplant. Can any one confirm this? Would make a good bible entry, I am sure it would be a semi-regular question ...

More likely you have a dodgy connection. Pull the leads off the battery and clean up the terminals with some sandpaper. Check the other end of the cables too. +ve goes to the starter, disconnect it and give it a scuff. The -ve cable should earth on the bottom starter bolt again with the general ...

I had the same problem - ended up miggin the rail to the seat.

I had rails that were in good nick, so they aren't likely needin to be changed soon.

I can take a pic if ya need it.

Steve - your double cardan comment has confused me. I don't fully understand why the situation is made worse.

I thought that people who put hilux diffs in use a double cardan to reduce vibration? Is that not the case?

Thanks I recognise the need for custom mounting. I had assumed (likely incorrectly) that a double card driveshaft would take care of the lack of offset - I assume this is wrong? What is the answer in the all the Hilux conversions that occur. Being too big - are you generalising that both the MQ and ...

GQ versus MQ Diff Swap

Been out of the game for a bit while working on the house. Any way the itch has returned and I am working through some bits and pieces. On to the topic at hand - I am confused - Reading through the diff swap banter I am wondering why MQ diffs get a mention, but no mention of GQ? Are the GQ's not a ...

GQ Rear Link Arms

Could someone tell me whether or not the top and bottom links run paralell to each other?

If not, is anyone kind enough to measure/tell me the difference?

ooops I hope I didn't jump the gun in assuming the 1.6 has them aswell... Mine is on the back of the intake manifold, its a valve thats plummed into you intake manifold. There should be two collant hoses running to it, one into it and one out to the throttle body. Pull the throttle body side off and ...

adjust your dizzy. if that doesn't work it might be the water pipes to your idle up control have corroded and blocked. if it does not get a good flow of hot water it will tell the idle up to do some strange shit. x 2 - The IAC valve on my G13b caused this. Can be because the pipes are blocked with ...

Guys - can you do your research a bit before clogging the thread up with dream parts that Sean isn't going to ever be able to help with. 1.0's were basically never sold in the US (they were, but the numbers were so small it's not relevant) Jimny's have never been sold in the US Bolt on portals?
