Huge congrats to Nick and Craig, Team Black Betty. Consistent driving all weekend, finishing in 4th place... first 'full body' truck, first non queer steer truck. depending on how stuck it is (ie. twisted splines in locker etc), you can use a stick welder, joint 2 sticks (should be enuff - maybe 3?), earth to the diff close to the centre, hold the stick so it only touches the piece of broken axel, arc it up and have someone pull the earth so the stick welds ...

...and that's the way I like it. If there are no rear steer or reverse penalties teams can just take 20 reverses and rear steer themselves silly without thinking about it. I prefer to see teams work up a strategy, avoid reverses, and make the rear steer guys really have to think about using rear ...

Bring back reversing penalties and add a rear steer penalty.... really make people earn their points. Mud 'race' rather than mud run. Keep it under lights - having the entire crowd there is a buzz.
