I have been told to get centre hung float bowls as they have a bigger float and don't get as affected by angles as side hung floats, and also to keep an eye on your fuel pressure, keep it around 4.5 to 5psi.

I have a hilux with vs v6 engine 4.5 diffs, goes good but probably could be a little lower, have a mate with vr v6 4.1 diffs and he uses more fuel than i do so i would say that they are starting to get a little low. I would probably say that 4.3 would be as low as i would go.

How free should a turbo spin? I grabbed mine to check for play, spun it with my fingers and it turns freely but there is resistance there, like when i give it a spin with my fingers it stop's as soon as i let go. I get that from the main tank, using premium unleaded. If you drive with a lead foot, which is mostly the reason for the turbo , consumption goes through the roof!!! but generally 400-450 around town driving normally.
