Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have a turboglide setup on mine with a 2.5" exhaust and standard radiator. No overheating ever... So by my experience the standard radiator should be capable of keeping a turbo'd 2.8 cool enough.
I reckon you have to look at another avenue. Like Ray 185 said, wastegate etc.

Looks like a pretty tidy rig.

Check for leaking swivel hub seal. Messy job and not real easy either.
Check for rust under driver and passenger floor mats around the body mounts (lift the plastic plug) Also in rear of cab under mat beside seat.

The mounting kit does fit later model luxes. On the Trail Gear site it only says 84 models as thats all the yanks got in solid axle.

Bit of a long shot but have you replaced the temp sender? These have been known to play up.

Your motor must have a had a lot of wear prior to fitting the turbo up.

I'd say the rings/bore were already on the way out & the extra boost has just accelerated the failure. How many klms are on the motor?

I would say they are a gusset there to minimise twist of the chassis. If you must remove them is it possible to fab a gusset up to replace them with? My chassis cracked at that point...

Ok I've decided to go ahead and do a solid axle swap on my IFS lux. I will need to get someone to remove the IFS and refit the new solid axle so if it is to be an affordable exercise I need to source all the bits necessary myself and have them ready for the workshop.

I went with a Fullriver AGM battery as my secondary battery as they apparently mix well with different type "starting" batterys.

I went with the AGM type purely for their fast recharge ability compared to a traditional deep cycle battery. I reckon that a traditional battery is the best value for ...

I've just installed a dual battery system with the aux battery in my tray. Do I need to earth my aux battery to the chassis at the rear or can I just let it earth thru the neg cable running back to the main battery?

Are the chassis's/mounting points similar enough or way to different to do this.
