100 series Gas Tank

Hello, Just upgraded to 105 Landcruiser 1FZ-FE (From a suzuki). Has anyone done an LPG conversion, and what systems did you run ie. injection type, tank location, recommended companies etc. Also any reliability issues? I have heard around the traps that the 1FZ-FE doesn't like gas, but are there ...

Bastard 1HZ alternator belt!

Hi all, Obviously it can and has been done, but how the hell do you loosen the alternator adjusting nut on a 105 1HZ? The tensioning bolt is easy enough to get to, but it seem you have to remove either the entire front of the vehicle or the compressor to get to the adjusting bracket nut??!!? Any ...

Hey guys,

Looking at getting a 100 series cruiser. How does the 4 spd auto go off road? Does it lock up in first low for steep downhills?

Cheers guys

I've done the same, but my bumper fits on as is. Its in the same position, attached to the chassis, the top of the bumper just slopes up. The good thing about this is it allows you to chuck a 31 inch spare on. (assuming thats why you did the body lift).

Don't quote me on this, but I heard that you can lower or raise the body up to 2 inch without engineering. I can't remember where I read it tho..

You should have no dramas with any of that nashy. First modification I ever put in was some poly urethane spacers, (from a Bruce I think through this forum). I have been running 20mm front and 40mm rear, with no strut flip for four years, and have had not an ounce of trouble. Last year I got rid of ...

I have been looking at some Drift seats at autobarn, for me they are bloody comfortable. When you say Drift, do you mean, they are easy to put into suzuki's?

I run different offset front and rear, my front rims are probably fractionally more narrow. But you wont feel any problems on road, even if the rolling diameter is different, you have free wheeling front hubs i assume? which will solve that problem, and you won't notice off road. But I'd think about ...

If you have a 2 inch body lift and 31's you can fit a 31 at highway pressure on the stock holder, as long as you don't lift the rear bumper when you do the body lift. The lower and closer you can get wheel the better, especially on the soft tops. This is for two reasons: 1. The rear visibility is ...

Go a rear locker definitely. 9 times out of ten you want a locker to get UP hills. When you go up hill, especially steep hills, you get weight transfer to the back wheels, so you are getting most of your available traction at the rear, therefore go a rear locker to take advantage of that. Also Steve ...

I self tapped mine straight into the panel. As long as you don't plan on taking them off, this works fine. But I used slightly different rubber flares to Dodgy Dave. Mine are sort of L shaped so that they have a big face that you place flat on the body panel.

Yeah, too right should have mentioned that, it was through an ARB service centre where I get my vehicle serviced, not sure where they sourced it from, but yeah not actually made by ARB. My bad. I have a 50mm body lift on my 1990 SWB Vitara. It was a commercial kit through ARB. Below are a few little bits and pieces that I needed fiddle with to get it all working: As you'd know the gear sticks drop down and need a bend and extend , or like I do, simply remove the boot off the main gear ...

An easy alternator mud fix you might like to try

Not sure if anyone has tried this thought I might post it for anyone who gets sufficiently pissed off at the muddy alternator problems. I just went out through mud and puddles recently and had the usual alternator problems. Anyway, pulled it out and found the brushes were worn rather badly, and all ...

Fair enough. The 'heavy duty' clutch has survived 5 years of abuse so far and still feels ok. Might as well just run it into the ground. Then maybe the EFI conversion or webber carby with some extractors for extra grunt.

Cheers fellas

Yeah its a Vit 1990, so I think I have the 5.1 diff then. The gearing doesn't bother me too much on road, infact I think it's better in first and second speed wise, (might get rockcrawlers for 4L tho). But... It just bogs down sometimes because of the reduction in torque at the wheels. And hills ...

Supercharging 1.6 Carby

I'm finally wanting more grunt to spin the 31's. Engine swap, seems too much work when I don't have a hoist and welder and stuff. So i thought a SC12 Toyota supercharger would be a better option. Has anyone ever done this mod, or recommenda any other type of supercharger? Any major headaches?

Hi guys, I've had my 31's on my vit for about a year now, and although I've adjusted my driving style to suit the new dynamics, the fact that it doesn't stop as quick is not comforting.
