Re: 80 Series BOSS 260 conversion, anyone seen it done???

VooDoo how does the Boss 260 make less power than the LS1, both can be tuned in stock form to nearly 300kw and possibly 550 Nm of torque.

80 Series BOSS 260 conversion, anyone seen it done???

Has anyone seen or heard of a BOSS 260 going into an 80 Series Landcruiser?
Been googling for awhile but are finding nothing.
I also heard the Ford motor is a bit bigger than the LS1-2, is that true?

Cheers

1FZ-FE swap from Air Flow meter to MAF sensor

Still looking at forced induction for my `93 80. I dont want to stuff around with tuning around the 02 sensor and AFM and have managed to pick up a 95 motor, wiring loom, MAF and ecu, would it be possible to swap this all into my bus to make it easier to tune forced induction off the MAF.

Cheers

Ford EL 6/FJ45 swap

Has anyone besides Ray done a EL Falcon 6 into 40 series swap. Did it work out ok? Would you do it again or go for a V8 or turbo diesel instead? What is the fuel usage like? Conversion kits are available so it must be a common thing but my search only comes up with a couple of related things and ...

Dude if thats one of your coolers, then i want one for a N15 Cummins motor to replace the factory aftercooler, and one for a 250 Cat.
A bit more torque in our trucks wouldn't go astray.

And if they can keep a turbo like that happy, then they will be used more on bigger diesels.

Good luck

F**k me swingin, thats a f**kin huge turbo, pity its a Garret, no wonder it needs a coolant rail. How much heat is that getting EGT wise

The turbo on our 9000 series John Deere isnt much bigger than that.

What sort of torque figures is this getting

So what spec turbo is good for a higher powered job like this, it seems there is not alot being done with the good ol 1HZ. We may start seeing some big numbers coming out of them, that will test their relaibility and strength. With regards to ceramic coating , i assume you would bore the cylinders ...

Like i said before in need to sort my budget out, but i think i will probably go with some jpc gear, i didnt want to insinuate they were overpriced.
Pump $3200
Turbo $2200
Injectors $ 190ea

But i need to sort out the intercooling myself, bit far from his workshop.

As for the 200rwkw thats what JPC told me the ...

You can expect overheating issues with the turbo, i have spent a fair bit of time getting mine to run cool. If you want to tow they are great, mine ...
