Re: MK powersteering hoses leaking

HP hose is the lower one at the pump end - with the nut not the clamp end. Leaking could be from the hoses but more likely the seals in the pump itself. If the oil gets onto the fan belt you might find yourself breaking fanbelts frequently so it is worth fixing the leak. Nissan sell a seal kit. This ...

I have used the 12V version and frankly I would never fit one again. The first one had an internal connection work loose after a couple of months. Fixed that and shortly after the motor shorted out. Managed to fix that and then made the mistake of fitting a second one for the Gigglepin head. Both ...

Either solenoids or motor. You can use jump leads to test as in the diagram below. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb183/ightham/Electrics/testingwinchmotor.jpg If the motor/winch winds in and out OK then probably the solenoids or a loose battery connection or poor earth. It pays to fit an earth ...

I must have an oddball. The nuts on my MQ and various replacement housings I have had ALL measure 52mm and a 52mm socket fits perfectly. Maybe the Aussie MQs were special - you guys have bigger nuts!

I have now gone to the GU locking system - much simpler.

I had a similar problem with the seals on the front diff on my MQ. On the MQ they are located at the diff head. Changing the seal made no difference. When I looked closely at the axle I found the seal had worn a slight groove in the axle surface. Fitted a speedi-sleeve about 3 years ago and have had ...

I am not familiar with the T-Max conversion you mention but it sounds to me like a kit to convert existing solenoid switches to wireless control rather than the usual remote cable control. If this is the case then if one of your solenoids is busted this kit won't fix it. Wireless control of a winch ...

Johnflink - low oil pressure can be caused by a clogged oil filter or insufficient oil as well as a faulty pump. I am not that familiar with the L28 but the pump is, I believe, located under the distributor. Remove the distributor and the oil pump and drive unit can be removed as an assembly. You ...

Another cause may be an internally split flexible brake hose. The fluid can pass through one way, then the pressure flares out the internal splits not allowing the fluid to return when you take your foot off the brake pedal. Would never have thought of that. Amazing what you can glean from these ...

Jumper cables are just fine. Just make sure your fingers, clothing etc are clear of the fairlead when you test it. I think I have sorted it out. The insulated terminal block is a parking switch to make sure the wiper stops at the top of its stroke. The reversing of the wiper is achieved mechanically through a simple crankshaft action. Does this diagram look right? http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb183/ightham ...
