I have a 91 swb and travel 1000 k's a week to and from work, i use no more than half a litre per fortnight, i found a build up of gunk looked like oil and water mixture in the breather hose to the air filter. Ended up being one of the cups was slightly out due to one of the pin rollers inside moved outta place, before i started i had a slight vibration coming from the gear stick... now that's gone but there is a vibe in the 4wd gear knob.

Apart from that it's running sweet. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the info SiKiD_01 no marking left whatsoever, as far as i can see the uni's are seated properly. i started doing what you said a few hours ago... in regards to taking it out and repositioning it. starting pissing down gave it up till the morning... then i'll try again.

EL alternator will bolt up to a 16a motor, the only problem is the connection plug, standard is 3 pin plug. the ford EL is a 2 pin connection apart from that the ford alternator is slightly bigger but just fits in.

Just need some info, i have a 16a motor and have been offered some headers which came off a 16b efi motor, will they fit or would i be better just trying to get new ones.

Thanks CJ, good point guess i should have done a compression test first, next day off that's what i'll do. as for the timing i guess that will be the next venture if the compression is fine. again thanks for the help.

I bought a 90 vitara swb about 2 weeks ago, done the regular things new plugs leads dizzy cap and changed oil.... new brakes. the problem is on the highway it wont do more than 90 to 100 k's. Motor is pretty good dosen't blow smoke or burn oil plus no rattles. starts first pop dosent surge or ...

Hi Nev, 15 x 6 rims and new highway type tyres. like i said i only recently bought the vitara not sure if the gearing has been changed, but im pretty sure it's standard.
