Re: GQ RB30 turbo project

the popping on decelleration is most likely due to the lack of speed sensor input to the ECU on the patrol the VSS is a frequency based AC wave and not compatible with the rb30 ecu, you need to run an adapter to retain your stock vss and also run a stock r31 vss, then grab an r31 dash cluster and ...

Re: vl turbo motor in rb30 gq not running

you need fairly hefty wire for the +ve 12 v feed to the 2 pin connector in the engine bay, this powers the injectors which are low impedance and can draw a fair whack of current. try disconnecting the AFM, it will idle and rev up to 2200 rpm where it will start to pulse, but if it starts and idles ...

just email via the nistune site.

the gtr injectors are a perfect upgrade formore power while retaining low down managability with the stock (nistuned) ecu.. but unless you like leaving a trail of optimax behind you you will need to adjust the K constant pretty heavily and then chyeck it on a dyno.

vlt injectors are around 30% more flow than the n/a ones.. your options are... vlt injectors and ecu and retard the base timing to 11-12 degrees BTDC and it will be happy to around 10 psi. on 95/98 ron (maybe a little more but lets be safe) vlt injectors with n/a ecu. will overfuel across the range ...

if all fittings are just hose barbs, under boost you will be pressurising the crankcase, this will form a restriction for oil returning to the sump from the turbocharger which will in turn cause it to find its way out of the compressor exhaust seal and into the engine/exhaust making oil smoke ...

undo the swivel seals and kingpins and remove the whole lot including the swivel housing, then get it in a press.

the stub will be rooted so see if you can find a whole replacement side from a wrecker and put your new bearing into that.

grab an r31 skyline in tank pump, it will fit into the standard patrol bracket, then use the existing two lines as feed and return (larger one for feed). you will need to run a new power feed to it from a relay powered by the ecu. on the ecu you have a fuel pump output on pin 108 (pin 8 on the 15 ...

because the front is high pinion the gears are reverse cut, so the two wont mesh at all. Also gears are sold as a set as they are lapped together, taking a mismatched pair, you MAY get a half decent contact pattern but chances are you won't. you will also need to shim the pinion etc to set the ...
