Can you remove the tailshaft all together, run the car to 80kmh in 4WD and see if the vibe is still there. At least that will eliminate if its the tailshaft or not.

Is there excessive play in the slip joint. Not length wise, but twisting-wise.

Also check the slip joint in the tailshaft. I have to grease mine regularly because it has a bit of play, otherwise I get this noise as I come off the accelerator.

Red goes on the ignition side of the resistor, i.e. NOT the side joined to the + of the coil.

First post. Recently acquired a shorty GQ. Very fresh to this 4wd stuff. Done a fair bit of reading. Great forum! The car is great, apart from an annoying whine above 80kmh. It's quite loud.
