something is wrong with your fuel rail pressure regulator. Injectors operate at choked flow conditions so small pressure fluctuations don't affect injector flow. Also pressure reg helps keep pressure very high and at choked flow. I reckon your pressure reg is jammed open.

as the RPM increases the flow more closely approximates a continuous one and like any pipework it will flow more for a given pressure if it is designed with non-restrictive bends etc. These designs are to give lower pressure drop at high flows exactly the same as extractors, not really suited to a ...

you need to get the vac from after the throttle plate. if you have enough vac before the turbo to actuate your diff you have roadkill in your air filter or some other significant blockage. Shoudl already have a check valve inline to the vac accumulator which will prevent boosting the vac system. re ...

the only things it detects is that the centre diff lock is engaged and the vehicle speed is low (i think below 40kph) which the diff lock control unit detects from a reed switch in the dash.

i had an AC compressor set up as an air compressor in my gen1 4d55 (factory one actually :) ), and i'd love to do the same in my gen2 6G72, but i can't for the life of me think how to mount one under there. Has anyone successfully rigged up a crank driven air compressor on the V6 gen2? any ...

your engine is probably pinging (ie pre-ignition) it could be caused by:
to far advanced ignition timing, carbon deposits in combustion chamber, car overheating (perhaps locally), lean a/f ratio in one cylinder, or bad fuel.

For budding home mechanics: if you have floating calipers with the bolt type slider you need to service the boots/sliders when you change pads (grease them). 4WDs driven offroad will hold water in the boots and they will rust out, seizing the caliper. I've had a very similar thing happen on an EF ...

nope, a short motor is an engine without electrics, ancilliaries or cylinder heads. long motor is same but with cyl heads. what you prob need is the long motor cause most likely your whole motor is getting long in the tooth.

you really have four options, costs vary with how much you do yourself ...
