From memory you have to remove the entire sliding window. Once the window is removed you can access the nuts that hold the window surrounds on. The windows are held in with some sort of silicon, can't remember the name of it. I remember the guy that removed my windows used heavy gauge fishing line ...

Build it as a truggy with bits you can use at a later stage on a buggy. Drive it as a truggy, smash it up then build a buggy with the good bits. This is what I have been thinking. I will eventually get into a buggy and a lot of the gear I have in the 4runner could be put into a buggy. I have had ...

Help me make a decision - Road legal, truggy or buggy

I have been trying to rebuild my chopped 4runner to be fully road legal. It will have a rear 4-link suspension with coil-overs. For this to happen in WA I need pre-approval (which I have), engineered and then lane change and brake tests to get it legal. So a bit of work and cost is involved. Now I ...

if using std bushes they are a rubber bush with a sleave vulcanized (spelling?) in the middle for the bolt, they use a 14mm bolt and no spacers or washers on the bush, just clamped in the bracket. yep that's it. So with a 14mm bolt it has a small amount of play, maybe 0.5 - 1mm. Is that correct ...

GQ/GU Suspension Bush bolt size?

Just 16" coil overs with double tirangled 4-link for the rear. I have jeep wagoneer (rs44044) springs in the front.

I would like coil-overs for the front, but we will see.

WA use a version of NCOP from what I can tell. I have a draft version that I must adrear to for my mods. Anything over 2" needs a lane change test. ok, got a old bush and the part number is imprinted on the rubber - 55045-06j00

I know the gq bushes are expensive but I think they are the best compromise between flex and durability.

Part number for GQ rear trailing arm bushes

Does anyone know the part number for a genuine GQ trailing arm bushes?

I think they are 55045-06j00, but I want confirmation that these are the correct bushes to use?

I am making a 4 link for the 4runner and want to use standard rubber bushes in the links.

Thanks

The only way to get good flex out of a toyota rear end is to use longer springs and lower spring rates. But if you do this you will need to run a track bar to stop axle wrap. Here are some links to long rear conversions. These are USA based springs but you should be able to use the same principles ...
