I took a look at a transfercase and the factory manual and it can be done but is a lot of work! There is only one lever that goes into the case that pushes one shaft and pulls the other one. So you need to make 2 levers and go from there.

I've got an Patrol 260/Spanish MK for parts and these Patrols have the end of the axle chromed. Its the part that hold the knuckle.
At my MQ/160 this part just plain/bare metal.
What should I do, I have to rebuild my MQ axle anyhow. Put this 260 axle under my MQ (after changing gears)

Found the casting number today. Its an F54, that means that it has siamesed cilinders wich is better for getting it stroket.

What kind of block is in the MQ L28? Like P54 or something.
There should be an number on the left side of the block but I can't see it because of my header.
Anyone an idea?

I did a spoa years ago and used home made shock bracket to use the original shocks.
They break pretty often so I want shocks that fit on the original mounts.
How do I measure my maximum travel? I was thinking of lifting one front tire with a forklift and lift the oppesite rear tire with another ...

Can't you just lock the GQ hubs? My dad had an 1993 GQ and the free running hub had something on that you could turn.

My friend has an 1984 L040 Pajero TD. His shift lever for the transfercase is stuck. He used it this morning and it was fine but later that day his lever was completly stuck in 2H.
What is the problem here?

I bought an ARB for my front diff but offcourse this locker has an new style switch but my rear locker has the old style locker. Can I upgrade my rear locker switch to the new style?
And where do I buy spare parts for ARB's?

Yes, I will set it all up on the floor and after everything works Ill put it on the frame. The new body will go on there after that.

The stock 5 speed input shaft it is!
You mentioned a Nissan TDI clutch plate, do you mean a Patrol 4.2 TD?

A friend of mine rebuilds gearboxes of Japanese cars so he can change out the input shafts of the 4 and 5 speed. Also, my drive shafts are made longer but it doenst look to strong so Ill have a specialized ...

Thanks for the answers! But I ran into another problem! My Patrol is a swb and has a spoa so if I place the gearbox more backwards the angle of my rear driveshaft is pretty big wich causes vibrations I think.
Also my front drive shaft will hit the crossmember.
What if I choose to go for the first ...

My Patrol is going apart completly. Body is rusted out and I want to have my frame galvenized so relocating the supports is no proble before that.
Is changing the input shafts difficult?
So You recomend to order the conversion kit for the L28-4 speed Patrol?

I have a 84 MQ with a L28 and 4 speed. I'm going to order a V8 swap kit from Castlemain but I want to use a 5 speed from a diesel.
I was thinking of just putting the 5 speed on the stock location of the 4 speed because the V8 will be clear the firewall better and since its a short engine there will ...

I replaced the rear wheel bearings of my 84 MQ today but I ran into a problem! When I placed the axle's back in the rearend and thighten the 6 nuts of the RH side (short axle) the bearing got way to tight! It looks like I need at least 50 shims to get it the way it supose to be! The left side didn't ...

I know, but I don't have acces to the Patrol now cause I'm in the US for work. But the shocks are cheap here so I someone knows what size you need on a SPOA MQ please let me know!!

not too sure mate but depends are you going to cut guards lift it more? or just soa it?
with bigger rubber u will always get scrubbing unless you tub the guards
you may find that 36's will fit but will scrub unless you extend bump stops
if they dont fit add a body lift I got 33" now and they ...
