Re: hydrolock - diagnose bent rod

I'm not to familiar with the 2h but easy way is with the head of make sure each piston comes up level with the top of the block. If you have one that sit lower you may have a bent rod.

The most precise method is to knock the sump off as well and remove each piston and rod assembly and then you can ...

Re: 1hz Diesel fuel cutoff solinoid problems

How is your starter motor?
Seen this type of problem before and it's generally been the starter is dying and can't turn the engine fast enough when hot.
Just a thought...

Have you tried temporarily hard wiring the fuel cut solenoid? That will tell you if it's in the imobiliser

Re: increased towing capacity

in NSW you get a GVM upgrade, its pretty much a suspension upgrade. then you will need a engineers cert... generaly the upgrade is good for around 500kg's

Gvm is how much your vehicle can weigh, has absolutely nothing to do with towing capacity so upgrading will not help.
What is need is a gcm ...

Re: 1976 nissan G60 cab/chassis ute suspension mods

I've read heaps on rmpo about leaf setups you guys in the us are using, the problem is over here cutting hangers and rewelding will require a engineers certificate which keep going up in price each year, you can get away with it easily but its a insurance issue if some thing ever happens, so most ...

im just running the standard driveline for the moment, although plans are under way for some improvements.

sounds like a nice setup you have there, did you bring the engine forwards so you can access the rear plugs or did you cut holes in the footwell? any pics? how does it go?

Re: Z24 to TD27T Conversion

have you thought about a ka24e out of a d22?
it will bolt into your mounts bolt up to your gearbox, easyer to find and cheaper. may need sump mods hardest part would be wiring it up and thats not that hard
easy to boost later on if you want more power out of it.

just a thought

ive been ready lots about spring pack lengths and sizes to fit into my ute, rear out of a 75 series cruiser or later will work, they are longer so may need longer shackes depending on how the angle ends up and from what series they are out of, as for fronts the rears out of a non ifs hilux should ...

I believe that the bellhousing pattern is different to the g series motors, although the gearbox itself is an AW-4, the same as a 1.6.

2L v6 into sierra

G'day
ive been given a 2L v6 out of a vitara and im thinking of putting it into my sierra. ive searched but there doesnt seem to be much information on doing it.
does it use the same auto box behind the 1.6 with a different bellhousing or is it completely different gearbox?

using hotter plugs

G'day
is there any problems with using a bp4es in my sierra as opposed to the normal bp5es?
as the current plugs keep fouling due to oil gettin past the valve stem seals, so was just goin to run a hotter plug as a temporary fix

if you mix some oil in with your grease to, so your grease turns to a thick liquid it would work, that way it still flows like oil so you still lubricate all your bearings properly but is still thick enough that it wont leak past seals as quick.
