Any news on the Outback Challenge this year, according to the web site event is on in about 7 weeks normally by now there is heaps of updates and news on the event.

I’ve got a couple of mates racing in the OBC this year and we are thinking about going up to watch.
Has anybody done a spectator package before, do you get to camp and be with the competitors or are you kept away?
Do you get to see most the stages?

I have been told that ARB have changed the design of their Locker and the comp boys are breaking the new ones regularly.
If this is true it makes the whole discussion “what’s better ARB or TJM” allot more relevant.

Hopefully the dates wont be to close to the OBC, it would be great to have two big comps up there.

Is the free spool air operated, or do you need to turn a lever on the winch ????

I am in seach of a set of fibreglass GU Front Doors, any idea's.

Most the guy's are trying for a wheel base of around 100 to 105", to get this you have to extend a shorty or cut down a wagon.
There is always a good discussion on which way is better, but both methods get the desired results.

How about bonnets for GU - no scoops

Do they run an open class category where the engine size can be larger, or is the six litre the biggest engine capacity you can race.

Has anyone seen the competitors list for this year, on the web site there is only seven names. Surely they won’t run the challenge with only seven competitors.

Maybe I'll ring around the wreakers and see if i can find a updated cluster.

Does anybody know if the dashboard set ups in the GU are changes with the different models, eg. Does the Ti model have a volts and oil pressure gauge?

Make sure you post up when you have the GU gear, as i would definately get a bonnet and a set of gaurds

I do know they are having meetings and stuff with the marshalls from last year. I havent been able to get to one yet. And all I really know is the format will change slighty and has been reduced to 3 comp areas. Which at this stage I think are Broken Hill, Poolamuca and Denian. That means no mud ...

Anybody know where i can purchase the gigglepin twin motor housing for the warn high mounts.

Is there a rule of thumb to how much room to leave behind the front doors, the pgs one looks around 8 to 10 inches i have seen others that are less.

What motor is in it and what sort of numbers are you getting out of it.

Is the pgs zook going to be there, it would be interesting to see how much power that thing makes. I watched it at the quarry stages of the obc and it was quicker than the V8 patrol it was matched up with.
