Use shims, I think 2 per side should do the job. Wont be much good as a shopping trolley tho - it will scrub tyres.

2 shims will lock it up good n proper. a mate of mine cut the lid of a milo tin and it still acted like a lsd just a bit harsh.
i fitted a complete extra clutch (1 clutch plate from a old lsd pack) and it dosnt unlock. shit onroad good offroad tho.

Shimmed mine about a year ago, i could only fit 1 in 1 side, the carrier still had a gap of about .2 of a mm, but when i did it up, it pulled together nicely. It was like a locker at first but has worn down a bit now, its actually quite nice now, will spin both easily when i want it to

So does everyone use 0.7mm shim?

I can get any thickness shim from work and just cut it to size, what would be the best size to use to have a tight LSD that isnt locked?

Not anymore if 4H is Hobzees.

I was reading a thread in General Chit Chat, saying he has just gone insolvent. Have to try PGS or someone else.

Cheers, Dano.

So if you put 1 shim in its crap becuase it starts slipping, and if you put 2 shims in its crap because its permantly locked....

I can actually feel my LSD when it grips & so have others that have been passengers, its almost like a clunk, not a noise just a feel/grip, does this mean it needs re-shimming or is it normal? I'm new to Patrols & their LSD's after having 2 Explorers (8.8" lsd diffs), an FJ55 Cruiser & a Square Paj & it is a completely different "feel" to them.
