Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hey guys,putting a gq 4.2 engine into my 99 GU 2.8. any1 no wat i am up 4 in the way of wat i have 2 change , get made??and 1 done this conversion and used the 2.8 loom and just modded it 2 suit??any help would be good.cheers joel

i got a GU 2.8 pushing 35s daily no problems.a bit slow.i had the boost wound up 2 13PSI and fuel pump as well.the only problem i have is in low range the crawl is to fast. need rock-hopper reductions.thats my 2 cents

i am not a extreme 4wder or a lead foot driver .i jst seen the damage that happens when they roll ova .i seen 1 on the week end and it has made me think twice bout havin a 6 '' lift.thinkin of puttin a cage in the toy

Has any1 ever put a internal cage inside a gu wagon??

Any help would be so helpful cos bout 2 start swap.and dont want to be doin extra Work that doesnt need doin.cheer joel

wats the best way to go about the wiring loom.hack into the 2.8 1 or use a 4.2 1.the guy at the wrecker sed the 4.2 1 wont be plug and play.any suggestions?? cheers guys

i have heard that u can buy a kit from toyota to convert a 4 speed to a 5 speed.

any 1 put a t25 off an rd28 patrol onto a 2.8 lux?wou it be any better than the ct20? i can make all the adpators to suit surf maifoild.i have a ct20 and a t25 sittin here and want to no ever1s opinion on which 1 i sould use. cheers joel

i hav relocate the stud and the manifold bolts up 2 the motor .then the turbo bollts under the manifold and hit the oil filter.i tho the turbo was ment to bolt above the manifold.that y i think it is the wrong manifold.wats the difference between wen the oil is pointin straight out as oppsed to ...

Made a few phone calls 2 day and i think the manifold is off a 2.4 desiel surf.the turbo is a ct20.my oil filter points straight out from the block. i am thinkin of canin the manifold and jst makin a custom 1.

is there any way of usin this manifold on a 2.8??

got a ct20 to go on a 2.8.few problems.where the turbo bolts to the manifold points down and the turbo hits the oil filter.isnt the manifold ment to point up?? cheers joel

yea i have heap of off cuts at work of copper thats y i need to no the thick ness.we cut copper head gaskets all the time.i might try repco four the thickness.cheers joel

puttin a turbo on my 2.2 desiel lux and i am goin 2 water jet cut a thicker head gasket at work.so i thou it would give me som idea where 2 start by noin the thickness of a 2.4lt turbo head gasket cheers joel
