Sorry to say from my experience it was all very unorganized (as a spectator) at times it was very difficult to even see the guys in action. Probably just bad luck but heard plenty of the same feedback.

I'm sure it's not an easy task to organize etc but that's my 2c GL next year guys.

Yeah if u want cheap but reliable i would seriously go a GQ with the big (4.2 litre) petrol motor , while a diesel would be my choice the petrols are dirt cheap and fairly reliable and bloody strong for a petrol. I have had a GQ, 60 series and now hilux but i would choose the GQ without a second tho...

Have u checked the idler itself? My draglink ends were buggered and i didnt notice the movement in the idler till i put a fair load on it. Anyway yeh go to repco and grab a couple of draglink repair kits mine were about $15 and easy to fit.

Hey guys wondering if anyone has removed the motor that engages the transfer on the hilux/surfs with the ADD system, i unbolted it and can move it every way but back does anyone have any tips on how they operate? No one can point me in the right direction? Spent all day trying to sort it out but i have no idea how the system works :( If i swap the 2 vacuuum lines that go down to the diff over i can manage to engage the hubs

AUTO HUB PROBS???

Hey guys got an LN107 IFS auto hubs etc, took it out tonight and noticed the front wheels do not turn, 4wd light comes on when u press the button on the gear lever but nothing.

Hey guys got a GQ lwb wagon tb42 was driving today and noticed the sell of gear oil coming from around the gear lever, peeled away the boot and can smell it under the first boot but not the bottom boot. Very wierd i checked for any oil but nothing anyone else had this?

There pretty hard to kill from the stories/people i know with them. Mine has 340 on it (last 70 from me driven hard and bush bashed regularly) and is still going strong, slowing down but still strong and reliable HTH :)

JWB no idea on brand and i would fix if i had other transport but its just not possible to do in 1 day (sundays off) but yeh if it were possible would love to repairs. Grimbo your right but they will not give you a definate answer.. saying that i had my GQ defected recently took me visits to 3 different branchs of QLD transport to get it passed as it was and rules are pretty much exactly what chicko has explained...i hate QLD :(
