And you may have noticed shadow, I also said I maybe read the tacho wrong. As you will be fully aware 100 revs is only a small increment & on these tachos can easily be misread.

Well after another almost 3/4 tank of fuel used with another dose of the injector cleaner, the black smoke has almost all but disappeared at full throttle. It's now only wispy instead of a thick black smog trailing behind. :)

Yeah maybe I read the tacho wrong. And I apologise if I took your post the wrong way RUFF. I did have the truck idling for a while before I took it out, but it definately is going better & not so noisy than it was yesterday arvo. Like I said in my other post, maybe this motor is better than I ...

No, I don't want those & if you're trying to be smart save it for someone else. But when I can see less smoke after adding these, I don't think it's just because I took it for another drive. To be honest, I'm starting to think this engine is a lot better than I thought it was. I've never owned a ...

Seeing good results after the CEM treatment.

Hey people. Got a few of the CEM products the other day. Bought the FTC Decarbonizer, Cleanpower Fuel treatment, Antiwear Lubricant Assistant & the Oil Flush Concentrate. So earlier today I put a dose of the FTC & Cleanpower into the tank (well the correct amount for the amount of remaining fuel ...

My '83 HJ47 Troopy (standard suspension) in action, sort of. Not really good action shots because this is about as rough as it gets at my usual haunt without driving into the creek, or off the tracks. It's in a National Park, so I won't do that. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q234/aussiebush ...

What other bucket seats will fit 1983 Troopy.

As the title says, what front bucket seats from which other vehicle will relatively easily fit in an '83 HJ47 Troopy to replace the originals. I want to end up with 2 normal bucket seats & do away with the 1 1/2 passenger seat to make way for a between seat console I know I can just go to the ...

I've only had it a few weeks & have not done any adjustments to anything on it. But I have no idea what the previous owner or his mechanic touched. I'll probably just take it to our local workshop in town for them to check it over. I don't mind spending a bit on it to make sure everything is right ...

Thanks shadow. I've had another look at it, & I see what you mean. I just wasn't pushing back on the lever hard enough to push the plunger in.

Right, so that means it's in the "run" as it should be.

Now just have to see what else I can do to lessen the smoke.

Thanks mate. :)

Fuel control question. 2H diesel.

I'm not yet conversant with diesels so I thought I'd ask. I'll explain the situation then I have a question. On this HJ47 Troopy I recently bought, the EDIC is not working, so it has a rod with a knob on it, connected to the fuel control lever on the injector pump where the rod from the EDIC should ...

Temp guage question. Early 80s Troopy

Looking for clarification on an '83 Troopy 2H diesel temp guage please. Note the truck has a 4 speed g/box. Where or what is the half way mark on these guages. Is it the line over towards the H position or is it the imaginary unmarked line half way between C & H in the large open area between C ...

1988 Pathfinder. Is this good value?

Hey guys. I'm searching for a 4by, but haven't decided what to get yet. I'm really just doing some research at the moment. I've found a really nice looking 1988 Nissan Pathfinder 2.4 litre petrol on eBay. I messaged the seller with some questions & he replied the following. "The fuel tank is about ...
