Hey Dave, I have the Tough Dog adjustables on my 4.2TD GU and have found them really good. Been through the Flinders, Vic High country and many others touring as well as plenty of tough weekenders with the 36" Pedes on. I have about 3-4" of lift (Pro Comp coils). Also have a mate who got the Koni's ...

Hi David, I had this happen in mine and after plenty of pushing eventually got Nissan to come to the party. They only supplied the required parts and i had to pay Labour ($1700 approx from memory). They just fitted the later model part with full length splines. If you have to pay for the whole lot ...

Hey cun7s,
Here's one that will go on the rear of the car. Just take plenty of beer to help power it.

Re: rims
its only on the wheelin set anyway, its getting from my house to the bush legally with them on thats the problem k3lst Your tyres are illegal anyway - why bother with the flares?? Good point. I run 36" Pedes on mine for wheelin' on 1" offset and they stick out, but the tyres are more than 3 inches ...

Had the same thing happen to me. Cruising down the freeway in Melbourne and it just popped. Ended up getting Nissan to supply the main parts but it still cost me $1700 to get all the work done. There was a post on here that i started about it. Mine is a 4.2TD 2000 GU and was also out of warranty ...

G'Day arb383, Sorry probably should have mentioned that already. It is an IFS. Does the locker add any strength to the diff in these? If so what is usually the next thing down the line to break and is it cheaper than a diff rebuild? Before i get ribbed, sorry i haven't had a chance to search yet as ...

100 SERIES FRONT DIFF REBUILD OPTIONS
Hi, Had a mate away with us on the weekend in a 100 series Cruiser and he blew his front diff. Anyone on here done the same and have any advice on stronger fixes than a standard rebuild? I presume adding a locker to it will only transfer the forces to other parts but will it help to strengthen the ...

As per that last two posts, hand winching is hard word. But in saying that i would use a hand winch over a Hi-lift anyday and winching with a Hi-lift makes a hard job even harder. I own a hand winch and have recently got an electric winch which makes life sooo much easier. But i still kept the hand ...

4WD specific insurance
Hi All, Does anyone on here have 4WD specific insurance? Can you recommend it as opposed to going with a 'normal' insurer? I have just got a quote from Affinity for my 2000 Patrol to compare it to my normal insurance through AAMI. I spotted the ad for them in the FWDVic newsletter so thought i ...

GU dash lights
Anyone know where to get new globes for the 'Hazard lights' and 'Sub tank' switches for a GU? They light up when i push them but the back lighting doesn't work when i put the headlights on. I have asked at Nissan and can buy complete switches from them for about $40 or something (was a while ago ...

The gearbox in my 4.2TD failed (5th gear) but it didn't make any noises like that. Just went bang all of a sudden when i was cruising down the freeway at 100 in 5th. Then had no 5th gear and it was making nasty crunching noises. Presumably the bits that broke! Doesn't sound like your description to ...

Have taken some photos which i will try to post up here when i get a chance if anyone is interested ...
