GQ RB30 EFI Conversion Q'd
What Air box do people use? I thought about using the RD28 one, as the others will sit too close to the Exh manifold. Either that or use the VL one, which i wasn't a big fan of

New Hilux D4D Engine
I was looking at the new hilux D4D engne specs and noticed that in 2005, they had 120kw@3400rpm and 343nm@1400rpm, and now Toyota are quoting 126kw@3400rpm and 343nm@1400rpm ... how is that possible? Its physically impossible to increase power without increasing torque in the same engine with out in...

Diesel Conversion is it worth it?
I'm currently looking for 80 series of some sort (orginally wanted a patrol but gave up), and the price of the turbo diesels comapred to the petrols is just crazy. Is it worth getting a petrol and transplanting a 1HDT or 1HDFT into it? For example I was looking at a 92 Sahara petrol for 14,000 with ...

GQ Engine conversion Qs
I'm currently contemplating buying a GQ SWB, ditching the 4.2L petrol and replacing it with a RB30 turbo engine of some sorts as I'm got plenty of spares from my boy ricer days  . The questions i have, are the wagon RB30 parts interchangable to the swb ie. cross members, gearboxes etc. Obvious...

I can't see how mild steel will be a major issue, a lot of intercooler kits still use mild steel. Mild steel doesn't hold the heat like Stainless does and is actually prefered by some manifactures. Eventually it will end up with a slight oil coating over it anyway (from crank case gases)meaning a le...

Yeah I hate the sound of BOV, I never ran one on my old Nissan Skyline and the turbo only lasted about 30,000km, if you think about it, it is bad, its the air trying to get past back out after the throttle has closed and the only place to go is back out the intake. The noise is actually the air goin...

Awesome Conversion, has got me interested in trying it myself. Only problem with the EFI Rb30 is if you ever get the crank angle sensor wet, or even slightly damp, you've got to replace them. I owned 2 VL turbo commodores and had to do the CAS on both of them while owning them all because of water. ...
