exact thing was happening to my sisters Rav4 when we bought it.
Problem was batt was too small, so when starting the voltage dropped low enough for radio to lose memory.
New bat and all was good.

To see if its the battery, start it with it hooked up to a second vehicle like when jump starting.

The "vacuum in" wouldn’t have been air burning, all the oxygen in the tyre would have been used up with the initial explosion.
The decrease in pressure would have been the gas inside cooling down and shrinking.
Well done on getting out of a bad situation.

Coily front struts

G'day,
Ive got a mate who just bought a coily.
He doesnt intent to do much to it. Just 40mm or so lift and 235/75R15s at the most.
Does anyone have info on reinforcing the top mounts of the front struts?
There are no problems as yet, yet we jsut want to avoid potential problems in the future.
thanks

Strength for weight aluminium is far above steel, and as for fatigue, you would have to hit millions of things for it to be a real consideration in bar design....

Other than cost, there is nothing wrong with using aluminium for a bullbar.
The Problem is that alot of aluminium bars are made for ...

What kind of fuel usage, power and reliability do you get out of a petrol?

Also how is the petrol for towing?

*EDIT* also, have XJ's got Independent Rear Suspension or not?

Some places say they do, others say they don't.

Cheers,
Sean
