i own a 91 surf with 3.8 conversion, bit of a lift, 33 inch muddies, etc.
during the week i did the most crucial mod of all by adding a sports steering wheel, it looks and feels pretty cool.
i lined it up all straight and perfect, with the wheel perfectly in line when i was driving ...

stupid question but i need the answer.

new car, never owned a commodore motor before.
how do i release the idler so i can remove the fan belt?
it is a vn motor i think, in my surf.

well iam running 33x12.5 muds and i am getting 350k from 60l tank, that is a fair difference!!

i have a 90 surf with a commo v6 in it, with a 5 speed box.
the fuel economy is quite poo, but i expected that.


i was just wondering what type of mileage other people with this mod are getting??

we are about to do the same to my mates 2.8 hilux. as in fit the turbo from a 2.4. the only problem is fitting the oil feed and return. can some one send me some pictures of this? would be a great help. or just explain how to do it?

WHAT ABOUT THE 2.8TD'S IN THE EARLIER GU'S HOW DO THEY GO?

i am putting a new set of springs on my 4 runner, as the ones on it are shagged.
i am not sure on quality, put i am pretty sure springs arent just springs though.
they will be three inch lift.
got told to look for ones made in australia.
1100 for a set of lovell springs
700 for a set made in ...

have unscrewed fuel lines from injectors, all 4. i pump with the hand pump but no fuel comes out of any of them, i removed the return line and it all seems to be just pumping back out of there when i pump it.

any ideas??

i am not sure i bled the fuel system properly, can some one tell me how to do it??

also some one told me that i may have unplugged the fuel cutoff solenoid, where abouts is this.

i recently pulled the inlet manifold off my 84 2.4 diesel hilux, this involved undoing the injectors, and i also drained the radiator. it sat for two weeks while i was away, now i have put it back together.

it used to start first pop each time, but now it wont start at all.

it has a brand new ...

yeah got all the manifolds, piping etc with it. ive looked and i can seen how it all fits together in my minds eye. my mate is a mechanic and will help me, just thought some one might have done it and have some pointers is all.

i have a 84 4runner with a 2.4 diesel in it.
i have picked up a turbo of an 85 engine to fit to it.

now i have to fit it.

i have never done this before so i am just going to blunder my way through.

my mates has a freelander(gay i know) that when he is slowing down and puts his foot on the clutch to change gears, the clutch reengages while his foot is still on the clutch. i checked the clutch fluid etc, there are no leaks from underneath. does any one have any ideas???

where should i go to get the suspension don my ifs lux?? i have read you can get a 50mm lift done with rancho shocks and such. does any one now somewhere in sydney that does anything like this??

i think i am gonna go with the 7m, turbo if i can find one. from what i can gather it will bolt straight onto the gearbox , will i need to make new mounts?

the electrics and fuel, etc i can work out later but i am gathering from what everyone has said ...

do you have any specs on these motors?

well i dont want to spend more than 4 or 5 g all up, but dunno if this is possible. if i went with the toyota v8 and did most of it my self, how much am i looking at.

the 2.4 was rebuilt about 40 k ago.

how much difference is a turbo going to make??
