Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build
There is no way in hell that is making 500rwhp. That number would be 382rwhp and the title of the thread must pertain to the 700hp turbo which doesn't mean the motor will make that, never does.

Re: Suzuki ute pics
I'm seeing bulk quantities of chopped up swb zooks and sfa utes. A sierra "ute" is a long wheel base, with a cab chassis tray or integrated tub. Taking to a short wheel base sierra with the 9" and whacking some steel monkey bars on the back doesn't make it one. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos ...

Re: water proofing engine.
If you wanna get tricky, run an airline from a compressor in the cabin to the dizzy cap and that will pressurize it enough to stop water entering. Vasoline on new quality (I recommend eagle) leads and a good snorkel and extended breathers on diff, gearbox and transfer right up to the top of the ...

Re: t - max winch what is it rated to? and are they any good
Tmax are very good whinches, apparently stronger internals than WARN winches and more powerful motors. I've got a 6500lb Tmax on my sierra and it pulls single line up hills as steep as I can go without rolling back end over end.

Goodyears have a good reputation for strong sidewalls. But IMHO I think you should stop mucking around and go to a proper bias ply tyre like Simex Extreme Trekker or Super Swampers

Re: Custom Rubber Mudflaps...where do you get your Rubber?
I also use conveyor belt rubber, it's canvas reinforced and will NOT tear or rip! It's around 8-10mm thick and very tough! Can be bolted on, using large-ish washers and bolts, again, it will not tear or rip off, it's the best stuff! This is what I use, from work. Tis the shit. Any conveyor mob of ...

No uni binding, alip yoke dramas or any negatives really from my shackle reversal, only postives. Handles drop offs much nicer and rides a little smoother on road. over bumps. I've just got drive shaft spacers and the seem to do the job....just but a custom shaft is a small expense which I will be ...

I looked up on the J18,20 and 23A to sierra 5 speed ages ago. Just needs a spline shortening I think and bolts straight up. Bollocks to the boxes not lasting, I've seen them behind turbo GTi motors and going the distance with way more power. The sierra auto even is a trimatic, they can be built to ...

Re: Air intake issues..
If you can block the air pipe from the airbox entirely and the motor doesn't stall then you;ve got a vaccuum leak somewhere. If you've checked the carby to the airbox then it's possibly post carby. This could create other issues too.

I have small rubber pads on my 3/4 setup ,ainly to stop any noise. I don't run mine particularly loose, just a little extra down travel but I don't seem to have a drama at speed offroad. I thrash the zook pretty hard with the GTi motor on song a fair bit. I think so long as you are sensible with the ...

Personally not a fan of GE just because of their ruthless attitude but I have used them and probably will in future. Like mentioned you have to be smart and really have to be able to afford it. Re: 4agze lwb sierra
What's wrong with just a turboed G13B GTi motor? They make good power in swifts but are hampered by weak gearboxes. Don't have that problem in a sierra, can run a built trimatic, cut out the 4wd gear and you could get the power down to about a swifts weight. Pretty sure the fastest FWD swift was in ...

Maybe we should go by the words of the man who designed the world's first ute, that was Lew Bandt who was a designer at Ford Australia in 1932. I assume that is through an auto being a 3rd gear run, auto's on chassis dyno's always show higher than normal torque readings.v840 wrote:Am I reading that right? 322Nm from a 1.3 Jimny?

Re: sagged front spring on soa
Yes but it is more common to SPOA zooks and SPOA springs need to be more resistant to sagging and spring wrap and often have more leaves added to the pack for longevity. This is contradictory to flex alot of the time and hence makes SPOA a less attractive venture.
