I use RX super as recommended by my mate who is a mechanic and has had toyo diesels all his life.
2.8 diesel Hilux, 250,000km
Oil consumption is reduced.
I change the oil and filter every 5,000km using ryco filters.

As for letting it warm up, I give it about 1-2mins at a fast idle (1200ish rpm ...

As above, I've got the chance to get some wheels and tyres cheap but not sure if they'll fit.

Is the stud pattern the same on a HJ47 troopie and a LN106 hilux?
Will 285/75's fit? 5 near new tyres on freshly powder-coated black sunnies for about $150...

I ended up mounting the mic on the front of the ashtray. Was gonna put it in the circled area but it's better on the ashtray.

EDIT: Why doesn't yours fit? It is a DIN mount yeah?

As above, mate of mine has an '07 JK CRD Unlimted 4 door auto.
40 odd thousand K's, fully serviced etc.

It seems to be stuck in limp home mode (runs but no power).

Is there a way to 'reset' all the electronic jiggery-pokery? Disconnect the battery?

Is it a dealer job?
Has this happened to anyone ...

I consistently get 11's in a 2.8d Hilux.
That's hwy or town. Should be better I think.

Putting the AC on its coldest setting blowing onto the windscreen is the quickest way to clear a fogged windscreen in cold wether. Sounds crazy, but I did this all the time when I worked in the ski-fields. (also in rainy conditions)

But... a 'dinged up' matt black 4by may attract some extra unwanted attention from the cops IMO.

X2 on the wet interior and if its dry inside make sure windows are all the way up. but my bet is wet interior. Minee was the same until i removed the floor coverings and vinel will stay wetter for ALOT longer than carpet will.

K. What's the best way to dry it out other than removing and drying ...

as you said it's like there is water or something inside. More than likely you have a damp interior. Try and give the interior a thorough cleaning and then a thorough drying out. In the past I had this problem in my GQ. I parked it over a weekend in the driveway with a large worklamp on inside the ...

My Hilux fogs up shockingly in the mornings.
Doesn't matter if it's parked undercover or not.
The A/C struggles to clear it up - even when on flat out.

I've never had a vehicle that does this so badly. I'm worried that the lack of visibilty will cause an accident.

New glow plugs for a 2.8 lux? $17.95 + GST. I priced them up not 5 mins ago for exactly the same reason (reluctant to start on cold mornings).
A good place to start apparently accoring to my mate the guru of all things 'yota!
And a pretty simple job to change them too.

I love driving our new 'Lux at work.
I wouldn't spend my own money to buy one though. It just doesn't seem robust enough.

Get them to check the drag link and adjust the steering box.
I did mine and it made a bazillion percent difference, especially on longer drives.

You can add a surf turbo to them for about $500-$700 or buy one already turboed - its so common that its not hard to find.

Yes the 'Lux's are slow but not unbearable so. More 'relaxed'.
If I was driving freeway miles every day it might get ...

I just bought a 93 2.8d Lux for $5k. Has done 230,000km's.
All good bar needing tyres, as well as a few little finicky things.
Timing belts done as per service and regular oil changes done too.
I'm yet to test compression.


My tip- take it for a long test drive (including freeway cruise) before ...

Doesn't look right to me (I think that urine sample would get you disqualified in the Olympics though), but I'm no expert.
Isn't there some chemical/fuel conditioner type stuff you can use to clean the tank?
Think it's only a stop-gap measure though....

Thanks guys, I heard that reset springs don't stay reset for long and the spring rates are different on aftermarket springs.
