Re: Diesel Oil - Your Pick?
I use RX super as recommended by my mate who is a mechanic and has had toyo diesels all his life. 2.8 diesel Hilux, 250,000km Oil consumption is reduced. I change the oil and filter every 5,000km using ryco filters. As for letting it warm up, I give it about 1-2mins at a fast idle (1200ish rpm ...

Quick question. LC wheels on my Lux...
As above, I've got the chance to get some wheels and tyres cheap but not sure if they'll fit.
Is the stud pattern the same on a HJ47 troopie and a LN106 hilux?
Will 285/75's fit? 5 near new tyres on freshly powder-coated black sunnies for about $150...
Yes or no...
Cheers,
Pete

JK Unlimited CRD in 'Limp Home' Mode. Help!
As above, mate of mine has an '07 JK CRD Unlimted 4 door auto. 40 odd thousand K's, fully serviced etc. It seems to be stuck in limp home mode (runs but no power). Is there a way to 'reset' all the electronic jiggery-pokery? Disconnect the battery? Is it a dealer job? Has this happened to anyone ...

as you said it's like there is water or something inside. More than likely you have a damp interior. Try and give the interior a thorough cleaning and then a thorough drying out. In the past I had this problem in my GQ. I parked it over a weekend in the driveway with a large worklamp on inside the ...

Help! Why does my car fog up so badly?
My Hilux fogs up shockingly in the mornings. Doesn't matter if it's parked undercover or not. The A/C struggles to clear it up - even when on flat out. I've never had a vehicle that does this so badly. I'm worried that the lack of visibilty will cause an accident. It's like there is water inside the ...

Thanks for the advice. Well, job done. Does not interfer with seating position or get ...

Dual cab Hilux Q. Where did you put your fire extinguisher?
Hi all, Jeez I've been on here a bit lately  I really need to get a life! I know it's a bit trivial, but... I'm wondering where people put their fire extinguisher in their 'Lux? It's a '93 dual cab. At the moment I'm looking to put mine on the floor just in front of the passenger seat, but ...

Get them to check the drag link and adjust the steering box.jezzat wrote: 6. the steering is slightly loose. she runs off centre at times. is it because of the 35s muds"?
I did mine and it made a bazillion percent difference, especially on longer drives.

You can add a surf turbo to them for about $500-$700 or buy one already turboed - its so common that its not hard to find. Where's the best place to look for one? Wreckers? Yes the 'Lux's are slow but not unbearable so. More 'relaxed'. If I was driving freeway miles every day it might get tirsome ...

Hi all. Great thread for us GV owners... A good bit of information for all! I got an OME 50mm lift through ARB locally ...

*Staying away from flaming/non-tech/non-productive stuff* Serious Question... Is there a gregory's workshop manual for the 2.5l V6 GV motor? Haven't had a good look, but it'd be handy to find one. GV underbonnet compressor
Hi all,
I've been lucky enough to score a cheap 2nd hand ARB compressor.
Just wondering if anyone's got one?
Where'd you mount it? Pics would be good.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Cheers
Pete

Doesn't look right to me (I think that urine sample would get you disqualified in the Olympics though), but I'm no expert. Isn't there some chemical/fuel conditioner type stuff you can use to clean the tank? Think it's only a stop-gap measure though.... A second filter will help too. Especially if ...

Saggy suspension BJ73... Ideas?
Mate of mine just bought a nice BJ73 Middie cruiser with factory standard lowered suspension. His is a lot lower than this. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh151/pirate-pete75/BJ73.jpg His has the 'reverse egg' colour scheme with the yelow body/white roof, but you get the idea... He needs to get ...
