hey mate ,just to let you know gq patrols never came turboed from the factory in td42 motor must be an aftermarket or td42t changeover ,anyway there are a few things to look out for in gqs and im sure i dont know em all ,also is it bodylifted because that will add to the checklist *rusty rear window ...

ive done the hot lap and plenty of corrugated roads in between in a GQ running konis, they were very good and still goin strong ,the other 4bs that came with us were running foam cell TDs and they never missed a beat either ,must also mention we did the gibb river road plus a few roads leading off ...

need help,have got a 91 gq turbo TD42 wagon and im slowy losing water out of my radiator ,it had a bad leak caused by some dodgy welding on the custom alloy raidiator which ich ive repaired with an epoxy kit, its no longer pissing out water like it was before infact i cant find a leak anywhere ...

had the same problem in my shorty its an easy fix just need to get some gearbox spacers ARB sell em it will drop the crossmemberdown a touch so your unis are a little more straight dont go to extreme with this though as it will f@#k your enine mounts if you go to low

5 inch efs extreme shocks and 4 inch dobinson flexy coils (there the variable rate coils that will sit at a 4 inch lift but flex out to almost the same length as a six inch coil). ive got that setup in my gu ute and it flexes realy nice ,also shocks and coils will cost about $1600 ,pull off both ...

GU 02 ute td42 with AXT t3 turbo on 33 stt's main tank 95l about 500kms when towing and driving normally.not towing 600kms .when the 35 12.5 et2's are on ill get 400kms in the bush thrashing the shit out of it,my old 88 model GQ td42 non turbo would get 700-800kms from 95l main tank

ive had a set now for about 25,000 kms there mostly used on road for work and for camping trips in the drier seasons ,the et2s come on in the wet,wouldnt recomend for hardcore weekend warrior type stuff as they dont self clean in clay well .in most mud though there quiet good as long as ya get em ...

i sold a shorty gq td42 with 330,000 on it it ran better when i sold it than when i bought it at 233,000 and it ran better than my new gu with 163,000 on the clock .Good ol nissans arn't even run in till 300,000
