Go really big get a Rocket III engine and super charge it more power and Nm than a Hayabusa and you can get an electronic reverse for em'. I just don't have enough money to get the parts or i'd have built one.

This probably wont help much but i have a set of 751 on my vit and so far have 10,000 km on them and there great for what they are, also got just enough grip to snatch a bogged Patrol. for under $150 there nice.

That is nice, now if my MTB, 80ltr esky, swag, spare wheels and other spares and recovery gear would fit in i would be happy.

The thing is a 308 will with a bit of slight modification keep up with a BOSS 290, even them who really gives a sh!t, the sound of an old 308 at idle with a good exhaust makes the most beautiful burble and another reason it is an Aussie legend the V8 ute. The stout rat rod looks nice pitty it ...

For the Trans is ya don't care about auto/manual thing go a Turbo 400 i think these are the 3speed auto but have no lag if done right.

$2500 sounds pretty good for an old ute like that specialy if the body is straight and interior is good. oh one more thing worked 308 will go like a cut cat

Yom i screwed up my wording in a big way, what i meant was after all the hype i expected a really good Patrol instead it was a disappointment, if it had of been up to the hype i would have loved one in a trayback. but the 2.8 for me from hearing all of the negative sh!t on here it is really good and ...

the handbrake light started flicking on and off when i went around corners, now it is constantly on, no matter what. The hand brake itself is virtually useless also.
i have had those exact things happen without body lift and it was brake fluid level dropping, turns out my rear brake cylinders ...

Put an exhaust on a 2.8 and a bit more boost and they go hard and i have driven a newish 3.0 even given it some loud pedal and it was a slug, unlike the 2.8 stated which is my parents the 2.8 you give it some and it will GO like no tomorrow.

GQ or GU? the GU go hard parents have one and use to tow a 6m fiberglass boat no worries up the ranges round Cairns, just watch the flywheel the dual mass one on my parents one let go and rip the guts out of the clutch aswell around 200,000km other than that they are a nice car and very easy to drive

Drums are perfictly normal on an 89 Vit as that is what mine has and its an 89 aswell, as for brakes i've heard that LWB Vitaras have bigger vented disks as well as bigger brake pads, some one else my have a better idea
