Re: td42 plus 2871R 71mm, 56 trim 0.60ar 0.64 exhaust housin
Do you guys even realise that you have taken this thread to a level that is way higher (turbo tech wise) than what the average punter even needs to know?. Most of us (speaking for myself) just want to know solid reliable basics of what is simple and works, i'd go so far as to say that either a 2860 ...

I'm for boxes, put my Superior jobbies in about 3 years ago and I noticed the difference/improvement in ON ROAD handling immediately...speaks volumes for offroad use and i've never been hung up on them either!

Dunno mate, if you put things back how they were using new parts and you have something left over then it must be surplus to requirements.

Are you talking about the grease/dust seal on the inner wheel bearing?
Must be....double rubber lip towards diff centre if that makes sense.

Re: Gearing for a heavy GU on 35's
4.3's on 35's are a good choice, there's plenty of threads on Patrol forum where guys say they have changed from 4.6's to 4.3's - purely because of the highway speeds and revs etc.
I drive around a lot of hills daily for work and use 31's, the 4.3's give me plenty of room for torque just at the ...

Isn't that one a bummer...if Nissan read half the threads on TD42's they'd reinvent the wheel to continue the td42!

Re: To diff breath or not to diff breath?
Bear in mind that mines a Safari, but follow a line coming up off the front diff...it intersects with a line coming from the gearbox/transfer case and then goes into the inner front guard between the firewall and vacuum pump / battery.

Re: To diff breath or not to diff breath?
Hey Gleno....you're aware that your Patrol already HAS diff breathers aren't you???
Rear diff breather goes up into a chassis cross member....recommended to extend that up onto the firewall.
Transfer/gearbox and front diff go up into a T feed and into left front guard.

gudday
there are heaps of TD42t's in the import Safaris we have over here. The quick and easy way I found is to look for the Hitachi low mount turbo and an Aneroid on the fuel Pump....if it has them and its a good start to begin looking further.

Going to a stronger or heavier set of rear coils will also force your front into flexing better.
