Re: Need info on engine conversion
The vl motor fill bolt up. You will need to swap the sump, dip stick (theres a brass driff towards the back of the motor), front pullys, crank ets if you want to run air con etc. If you decide to do the clutch - use a vl one as there the same as a GQ - but half the price. ( I had a vendor pull 2 ...

Re: Mobile Phone External Antenna
There are a couple of issues with having the antennas close together.
1. A nearby antenna, can casue high VSWR to your cb.
2. It can casue a poor radiation in the irection of the other antenna.
It can casue damage to the front end of the mobile.

Re: UHF Receiving but not sending GME TX3200
Get the antenna checked as often a faulty antenna, cable or incorrectly terminated shorted RF connector will casue the PA tranny to blow.

Re: UHF Problem
If the antenna is a GPI ( ground plane independant antenna) you dont need a ground at the antenna. Usually if you rx some from a great distance indicates that the antenna is probally ok. Auto elc's are not radio techs (I am), they learn vehicle wiring. Bur RF is differant. A vswr will give some ...

Re: Alternator not Charging
Baja probally is, are there any part numbers on the side of the alternator. If its internally regulated, you will have to unplug the regulator on the guard, and put the links in (see patrol 4X4) You could also just disconnect the external regulator,. With the internal reg. Re: UHF Problem
The fault discription indicates a blown PA in the rig.
To confirm ( and also to check your antenna), get someone to do a VSWR check. The watt metter will indicate the transmitt power (should be 5 watts), plus confirm where the problem is ( radio or antenna)

RE Fuse panel,
The navara fuse panels are crap
I have started using marine grade fuses panels at work.
Depending on your power requirements they are great, plus as they are designed for marine use they can get wet.

It could due to the oil you are running or the tappits are partly blocked, I have seen a procedure where you have rev the motor a number of times and this helps .
