If you're not sure if it's a 3L or not, check the engine number. It will say 3L amongst the other numbers. I think that it maybe even the first two numbers, but I can't remember for sure.

Seeing what you did with your 40, I'm assuming you like your old school trucks. I say, resto the body and interior to factory spec and paint colour, then........ find a current 70 series ( 76, 78? whatever the new 4door is) at the wreckers or auction and swap the V8 diesel running gear complete with...

If that's what you want, then do it! If everybody listened to the knockers, we'd all be driving stock white, non-turbo trucks with split rims and am radios. There have been plenty of these chops done in the states and although it's not something that I'd do, I must say that I'm impressed with the bi...

I've been cosidering the Locktup sliders, but they are designed to be welded straight to the chassis. That's not something that I want to do, I'd prefer something that bolts on. You could just fab your own bolt on brackets, but this adds to the final cost.

Can't help with the cruiser kit, but I have a DTS kit (assembled and sold by MTQ) on my current hilux (2.8D) and I can't fault it. I've fitted a few different kits to other hiluxs and have found the DTS kit to be the best so far. Well put together kit with easy to follow instructions for those less ...

I'm currently running a T2 and think that it's the best way to go. I've had a few other set ups and driven heaps of others (switzer, factory surf set up, T3/4 hybrid & mitsubitshi turbo). They are all fine to drive and easy to fit but don't quite give you the power range of the T2. It spools up ...

I had a bundy back in the day. Ahh the memories.... it was a great old truck! It had the factory 15" chrome rims with 31's and factory flares. I was the second owner and they were on it when I got it, but the wear was consistant with being there from new. Another mate had the same truck with th...

Bending pipe for sliders

Anybody on the Central Coast / Sydney, got the gear to "neatly" bend up some pipe for some sliders? I'm looking at making up a set of rock sliders / steps for my, and a mates, dual cab hiluxs. May have a few other projects for the future as well. I'll go for a local business, but just thou...

A low strength product like Metho or turps woud be my recomendation. Maybe even some wax and grease remover (prepsol or similar). Don't use anything stronger like thinners or acetone as this can cut through clear coats and the like. Polishes would even make a tough job of it so I wouldn't bother try...

I've been through the whole process before. A number of different model Hiluxs, Vitara, Bravo and Pajero, along with a long list of cruisers and so forth which don't fit your needs. Firstly... Bravo, cheap to buy and fix. A bit limited to the amount of abuse it would handle. Vitara... Would go any w...

I know that it's not southside, but well worth the drive. Samford upholsterers on the northside do some amazing custom work. He's done a few jobs for my old customers (when I was based in Bris), that other shops wouldn't even have a go at. Top quality too. Should be in the yellow pages.

I'm toying with this same dilema at the moment. I had one on my last truck (already fitted when I bought it and don't have any pics). I have an RX7 intercooler in the shed, which looks about right. Got it of a mate for free, but I think that he got it from a wrecker. It was a Friday afternoon and he...

you can also get it from boat supply stores, who always seem to have it in a lot more width sizes for different application. It's used alot as non slip boat deck grip. Would have to be one of the best mods I've done in the past. Sliders, rear bar and also a bit on the top surfaces of the main bar se...
