Hmm, no good. So I couldnt use 80 series coil seats and upper/lower control arm mounts on the axle, and the 4runner stuff on the HiLux chassis? I just dont see how having a different axle would make things so difficult. Sorry not trying to fight it, I just cant see how this would be a problem as I ...

i dont think engineering will be a walk in park you will be making all the mounting points on the chassis many of them from scratch and doing a lot of welding the 80 series chassis is much flatter and a totally different shape you can use the surf panard rod mount the rails are the same spacing the ...

only if the gas installer did so
some times they just cut power to the fuel injectors you can add an extra relay to cut the fuel pump

ok your transfer will bolt up fine to a manual box you will have to change your rear shaft but the front shaft will be ok but i think the gear box X member is in the wrong place you will have to check also the 1hz and 1hd-t boxes are different in the gear ratio how come you wont have to change the ...

so looking at the picture comparison above, if the factory 4.8 ring gear is thinner does that mean that it is weaker or it still has the same strength as the other ratio gears? fairly sure the factory 4.8 gears are weaker than the aftermarket ones have blown quite a few of these when i was running ...

Hi being an "fj" this means it has the 3F engine is yours fuel injected or carb??? if carb you will have no trouble with using the toyo auto as it is a hydro box the toyo box is stronger than the chev box you could also source a hydro box from an early factory TD as they are also a hydro box (if ...

But seriously I know the TD's are awesome when they are going, and i know it's not all models, but my preference isn't to spend that kind of money on a truck i will beat up. I'd prefer to look at a 1vd conversion on a petrol model, but again, it's alot of coin for a truck i will beat up. :D i dont ...

no war starting intended and i can see your point as well your are correct in saying it will be easier 4x2 than if it were in 4x4 and loaded but you do have to agree that it will be harder than if the hubs are out yeah? the orginal (hijack)question was will it be harder to steer in 2wd with the hubs ...

answer to hijack question  is yes it will make it harder to steer if driving in 2wd as the diff will have to unlock (this take torque build up) before the wheels can move at different speeds Do you think it takes much "torque build up" to compress those little springs? :finger: yep how do you ...

lots of people say 1hz turbo is fine but that is because theirs is still running and they have not looked at the damage inside yet and when it does finally stop its all too late It's all in the setup and how it's treated. Biggest mistakes people make are overfueling, stonking it off idle/boost ...

they have less power and go (even when turboed )than the 1hdfte
they cost more to get in there Due to adapters etc
,are heaver ,gearing is wrong and use more fuel
a lot of coin for going slower and sounding cool :(
