Re: 1hdt laminova intercooler

G'day,

Just curious if that's a sharp edge where the water hoses are passing over the body in the last pic? Bit of door pillar trim would sort that.

Hope the cross-over helps... and it's air tight for you, looks awesome!

Cheers.

Re: Cavitation problems in water to air intercooler setup?

I'm having the exact same issue with my PWR barrel/intercooler system. I'm really keen to solve the issue as well... I have the newest Bosch pump so as mentioned not worried about the seals. I have given up bleeding the system because it will always require re-bleeding, generally within a week there ...

Hey guys, Thanks for getting back on track... I'm still intrigued in the Laminova setup and it bodes well "It's about time I looked at the Yota mainold" (Matt), that you are looking into this further. I just don't have the equipment or skills to go down the DIY path that you did Zoltan. Cheers, Ross.

Re: 100 series water tank ideas needed?

Hey dan, Do you have kids/are they still young enough not to require the second row foot space? I had a local place fold up a stainless tank (with internal baffles so the dogs -2 60 kg Ridgebacks- can stand on it if the little ones aren't in the car and it has held up well for three years now). It ...

Can you just confirm for me that the inlet (from the turbo) is on the top of the intercooler body? There is plenty of space between the bonnet and the proposed inlet?

Very interested in how you go with this.

Cheers.

I had noticed an engine and trans on the net in Perth, so for interest sake called and got some prices. The HD-FTE engine $8.5k, and 5spd auto $2.5k seemed good value, this is the combo I would love, given suitable budget. There is quite a bit more required to make this work in my vehicle, other ...

I'll add my vote for a turboed 1HZ, if set up correctly and properly monitered.

If I suddenly find myself sitting on a "spare" $10k, I'll swap the engine. Doing it in steps certainly helped.

Hey Nic,

Glad you got it sorted.

New panhard bushes fixed my shimmy  , after replacing wheel/kingpin bearings, controls arm bushes and tie rod ends. Adjustable panhards were only 7 months old so didn't think they would have been the issue :bad-words:

I'll also put my hand up for that question Matt.

Have wondered about the ability of a larger volume of water to 'help absorb' some of the heat when under load, which can then be 'cooled' when not under load (if that makes sense?).

Cheers, and keep up the great work.

I'm guessing the support is there for a reason. If it's like the cruiser it would be hard to get a drill in there. If the above ideas haven't worked, I'd also try putting a groove in the top of the broken section with the fine cutting blade on a dreml, small flat bladed screwdriver could then ...

G'day, Could you extend the mounts from the glow plug rail attachment bolts? (longer bolts with suitably sized spacers). Just an extra question, are both the flanges the same for that shaft as 80/105 series diff/transfer? I'm trying to avoid having to get flanges drilled and/or new studs fitted etc.

G'day Guys, Just a question for thrashlux, did you say EGT's "POST" turbo were 600 degrees? Giving most agree that the turbo pre/post temp is roughly 200 degree different, does that mean you were running pre turbo temps into the 800's? That's pretty heady engine temps for the 1HZ. G'day, I think the GT28 is a bush turbo, the GT28R is the ball bearing. I'm running the GT28R on my 105 at the moment. Garrett have changed the nomenclature on their turbo setups recently to improve turbo ID. This might help: http://www.manchesterminis.co.uk/download/technical/turbo/garrett_turbo ...
