Re: Leaf spring centre pins
Mate, I used hex head bolts on my 4Runner, I got them from the tool suppliers in Gavenlock Rd Tuggerah, on the corner pretty much opposite O'briens Glass, the guy in there is very helpful, sorry don't remember the name of the shop, you can't miss it though, on the right as you drive around the ...

Re: I love my Hilux, but .....
I run a 85 4Runner for play time, but bought a super comfy 80series to tour, the 80 is petrol/LPG so it's reasonably cheap to run.
Best of both worlds.

Re: 80 series keys
I got mine cut at one of those MR Minit stalls in the local shopping mall.
Toyota quoted over $300, took the key in to Mr Minut, no problem "come back in 10 minutes, did me a deal 2 for $65.

I fitted a set of the 4 rib to my 80series, 285/75x16". Just got back from a 8500kms trip to the centre via The Flinders, Oodnadatta, Alice, Finke, Mt Dare, a loop thru the Simmo. Loads of goopy mud and harsh Gibber tracks. These tyres were awsome, had them off the truck this arvo to rotate them and ...

DBA slotted rotors and Bendix 4WD pads improves them, and we do another custome brake pad that works very well on bigger tyred and heavier trucks as well, dear, but you get what you pay for. I've just gone the DBA & Bendix route and i'm very happy, but what are these custom pads, always looking for ...

I'm building a 85 4Runner at the moment and have done heaps of research, it's all over the web (same chassis and running gear as yours). I've had my Cooper S/Ts for 3 years, they're 31x10.5x15" on a 98 dual cab Hilux. They've done 90,000kms and still have at least another 20,000kms left. Never had a puncture, they have started chipping this year, did 2 weeks in the High Country running them at 22psi. I found the secret is to rotate ...

Re: Solid axle Hilux wheels
Hi everyone, Im looking for some Sunraisya wheels or the like for my Hilux. It has the solid axle front end. Are the rims on a solid axle compared to a IFS model different? Also, it currently has the stocky 16" split rims. Would I be better going for 15" since 31" seems to be a popular size and ...

A mate of mine had one of these with a roof rack bolted through the fibreglass canopy, he carried whitewater kayaks up there 4 at a time, 20kg each = 80kg, no problems, even off road. Depends on the weight of your tent. You could also build an internal steel support much like the Flexiglass Canopies ...
