cruiser lean and other questions

Still doing up my 47 series cruiser ute and I have a few questions. It still has the "cruiser lean". Is this all in the springs or are there other things at play? I want a pretty good ride ( at least as good as I can get) and was looking to keep the leaves. What I was thinking of was to go for some ...

I've used a little. At least their small parts like copper washers , clips, speed nuts, actually fit . I rekon I burnt up at least $600 of customers money driving around to find parts , and at least that again filing copper washers to fit and the like from champion and other brands kits.

I've fitted them to many industrial diesels to help preserve turbo life on engines that stop and start suddenly and some where low idle is still very loaded up and the turbos are still working hard (just not flat out). The check valves are there to make sure that when the accumulator feeds the oil ...

electricery on my cruiser

I had bought a "keep it clean" wiring kit for my HJ47 rebuild but its all too hard changing everything over. In short I've wrecked the original wiring harness, cant make the new one work so I guess I'm asking if anyone has a FJ45 wiring harness complete and in good condition for sale? The reason I ...

I didn't think there was any difference in the locking hub between the 40 and the 75. Make sure the gear isn't for the shonky AVM locking hubs.

I've seen them rust up too, and also had them not engage after a repack due to there being too much grease in the hub not letting the gear engage and the spring not being strong enough to push the grease out of the way.

A tig would be better for the actual welding of the panels, but I think too much mucking around for panel repair. I think you will find a mig handier, easier to do rust repairs with and easier to get into tighter spots (not needing two hands to use). I've used both although not used the tig for rust ...

I'm pretty sure standard tyres were 7.50x16. In standard form they used to be pretty rough so most people used to put fatties on to tame the rough. I just measured my 47 series ute for you and got 1415mm (as best I could with the wheels on). This was from the wheel mount to the wheel mount.

anybody recognise torque conv numbers

The torque convertor in my turbo 400 (fitted to my cruiser) has the numbers "ATS F414" stamped on to it. It has been cut and rewelded so I was thinking that the stamp might mean something like who done it up and if it is a little higher in stall speed.
Does any body recognise the numbers??

Injection is near the cost of a decent carby

Where do you shop??? I've been looking and I have to disagree. To buy new, or remanufactured , you can not get injection for the sorts of prices companies want for carbs.

I'd love to but we aren't all made of money, besides a well set up carby doesn't give much away to injection.

I havent looked for a day or two, too much BS going on. I ended up going to the rear LSD, purely for the easy to pull out reason. I have driven detroit lockers on the street in high horsepower cars and know quite a few of their quirks and dont really think I would have had much trouble with the ...

. the V8 will kill it if it is in the rear. the single crosspin will snap and/or the spring pins will break and/or the shoulders of the dog teeth will be shredded. big power plus auto plus auto locker plus ute (light rear end) can mean very unpredictable on-road performance. Have you seen this ...

have seen on cruisers the oil may go either way and the balance pipe keeps them alive reasonably well but the real fix is to drop off the transfer and fix the seal that is leaking in the first place. How many teeth does the standard toyota gear have. The gear I'm talking about is the gearbox shaft gear in the transfer case. The one that sits in front of the PTO drive gear.
