Re: 80 series HID kit problem

Dunno what to suggest mate, my 60 was wired for spots etc, when I put HID into the high/low beams everything went to crap with the spotties, I wound up rewiring the relay etc to get around it, cant recall exactly what the drama was, but it was to do with the earth set up on toyota switching, and it ...

Re: 80 series HID kit problem

AE international sell a plug in unit on eBay for about $35 that you put in the unused side and it gets your highbeam indicator light etc back online too, the way Toyota switch their lights can cause stuff like this.

Similar thing happened to a mates 60, was a linkage issue. When you undid the selector did the rod protruding from the transfer case retract inside at all? if so it has probably slipped off the fork it sits in and will require the case to be split. We didn't have to remove the entire transfer case ...

drive works fine in H4 it just drops the front drive in L4 sometimes it makes some clicking noises like partly engaged gears, then "clunks in" and front drive will work fine until its disengaged from L4 again.

Got me buggered as to why :?

edit to add lever type shift

60 series transfer issues

My 60 has an anoying bug, periodically the front drive does not engage, but only happens in the low range box, works fine in high, pull it back to low say for a steep decent and the front free wheels while the rear compression lockup and skid. Very annoying, I have checked the linkages, dont seem ...

My 80 series has been on gas for 11 years now, its done about 280,000km of which 200,000 have been on LPG. I had the head rebuilt after it dropped a valve at approx 210,000 which seems to be about the point that shit happens with valves from what I hear. Head rebuild was $3000 installed. Economy is ...

Got 33's on my non turbo 60 and they are fine, they are near as dammit the same rolling diameter as 7.50's which are what most 60's are meant to wear anyways, no appreciable change in ecconomy, they do touch with axle articulation but I am running a 2 inch lift only.

2H runs on

Just curious if running on is a common issue with 2H's, the old rig goes great for what it is, but when turning off, she shudders and shakes like a wet dog before she stops.

Any tips, a forum search didnt yield anything obviously related for me.

Apologies if I have doubled up on an existing thread.

I just paid $5500 for a very tidy 2H 60 series with 200K on it, 2 owner vehicle with no rust.......it was worth it to me for a low milage solid old truck that should provide a good few years of reliable service. Maybe I paid too much, but I looked at some serious shit boxes in the $1500 - 3000 ...

Just bought a 60 series wagon, paid a bit more than you are looking at but mine only has 200k on a 2H and is a 2 owner truck that's been looked after.

33's went on ok on what I reckon are about 1inch lifted iron man springs, I cant see 35;s going on without some serious work.

HID conversions

Hi all, great forum BTW :)

Just wondering if anyone has tried an HID conversion on the Nite Stalker 215 (IPF copy) rectangular lights.......looking at mine I get the feeling it should be feasible without too much grief, but if somebody has done then so much the better for me!

Cheers
