Re: Transfer case rebuild - SE Qld area.

Give custom transmissions at Geebung a try. They did a good job on my 84% reduction gears in my gu.

With 35s & 4.11s you will be on about 1800rpm at 100k’s. I think that’s too low for a heavy truck. It might have more grunt than your diesel but not at 1800rpm. 2200 to 2500rpm at 100k’s would be good, the v8s like to rev. I think you will find the ls2 will have much more torque then a td42t at 1800 ...

Sorry this is going a bit off topic, but has anyone run the camaro sump? They look like they would clear that steering arm better on a patrol.

It's got a breather hose on it as standard so Ill run that up as high as I can. This is probably a stupid question, but how will the breather hose on top of the box stop water coming in?

If your swapping to/from a ute with leaf suspension i'd say they would probably be different. The diffs in the leafs look heaps bigger than the coil ones.

That looks awsome! lol. Does anyone know of somewhere in qld that will make something like this?

I just rang millweld but you have to take your car to them in victoria so they can make it

I like the look of this heaps more then the rubber/silcon bends.

Don't even think about going for body lift unless there's a neccessity for it. Some bigger coils and longer shocks will do you fine.

Best 1 inch Body lift for Gu ute (no airbags)

I need to body lift my gu ute to fit the auto commodore box for my ls1 conversion. According to Mark's 4x4 website I only need 25mm / 1inch and ute's dont have airbags so thats not a worry. Whats the best sort/brand to get? Does anything have to be modified/extended? Any tips would be appreciated ...

Cheers do you reckon a 2 inch lift would have enough clearance? Eventually it will have a good 5 inch lift but I didn't want to do that at the same time as the conversion.

I'm about to buy this for my ls1 patrol conversion just making sure it's the right one. And Is there anything else i need or have to modify? Can I just use the dipstick and tube off the original LS1 sump? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-CHEV-GEN-3-5-7-6-0-REAR-HUMP-SUMP-PICK-UP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ ...

It would be interesting off road. As soon as you hit boost going up a hill you would just have wheel spin. I wouldn't think it would be as nice low torque as a V8 or diesel.
