ye it was all done right, there is two conclusions: 1 either there is shit in the fuel line because it started stalling on idle just as i got to the top of ameys hillclimb...
and 2 the fuse for the idler solernoid may have blown, where is the fuse for this? so i can check it.

You're tank vent system isn't working if you're getting hissing from the tank after you stop. Is it pressurising the tank or depressurising. I just read that the after market 4.6s get noisy after 35000ks now Im thinking to go genuine in the rear and after market in the front which means I might as well go for the 4.3s and find a second hand front as it will be cheaper than 4.6s now. nissan quoted me nearly 1000bucks for just rear 4.6 ri...

What you need to do is work out were you cars sits at comfortable in the rpm range at 100km/h and choose the gears that will put you in that rpm range in 5th gear. thats a good idea, ill try that tomorrow... first week of my patrol on the road fuel costs are going to kill me on apprenticeship wages...

would 4.6's be bearable for long distance? i used to drive a 2.8 hilux and it reved pretty high down the highway.

im just tossing up wheather i could tolerate 4.6's down the highway or not

it is my everyday driver aswell as my play truck... but ye i plan on doing a few trips to hit up some tracks...

will 4.3's make a noticeable difference? southern diffs told me ill only gain an extra 200 revs?

what ratio do you guys recommend for carby tb42? i can get two complete 4.3 diffs for 700 bucks or two complete 4.6 diffs for 990 bucks... nissan wants $1250 for just rear ring and pinion..

i really cant afford to make a wrong choice

i was thinking of putting in 4.6's, then i got told my truck will rev too high on the road ( i have a tb42), then i got told to put in 4.3's because its a good inbetween ratio that illiminates the sluggish feeling but still keeps the revs at a good rate... then some one else tells me that im wastein...

there are no yuck noises any where and all four wheels were driving today on flat. but it seems as soon as there is a mound of dirt or something where the front end articulates or gets stuck (as in front wheels need to pull the car up a rock etc) the rear wheels sit on the spot spinning and the fron...

no drive in the front wheels (gq)

i have zero drive to the front of my gq, the hubs lock fine. i jacked up the front end put it in 4wd locked the hubs, both wheels turn when u turn one but the drive shaft doesnt spin. then i drove forwards with it in 4wd n the hubs unlocked n the front shaft turns..

Any ideas?

i have just put 35's onto my gq and id like it drive like it has 31's but at the same time i dont want to be sitting on 110 down the highway on 4 grand revs..

your brake pads maybe contaminated, may have oil or brake fluid on your actual pads, this has happened to me on a hilux after the wheel bearings carked it n diff oil got all through my brakes..

the reason why i would like 13.5" wide tires. is because i want the toyo open country mt. these tires only come in 33x12.5 or 35x13... and im getting 35's.

i found out today these tires can be run on a minimum of 8.5" wide rim.. do king rims make them in this size?
