No one has tapped on the issue of weight. Pick up a Mud tyre on a steel rim compared to HT or AT tyre on an alloy rim. I'm not going to start an arguement about steel Vs alloy, but for "city driving" I can't see why not to use alloy rims. (Unless you have a spare set of smaller steelies like I did ...

and would a v8 out of a vn commodore be a good option and should it be under 10 grand. You can pick up a whole VN V8 Commo for about $6000. with rego !! To DIY I would budget about $3000 to complete a 5L VN engine conversion. Use the commo wiring, Find some 2nd hand extractors, Modify the Memcal ...

I looked into it with mine and a v8 conversion was over $10,000 ( drive in drive out) For 10gz I'd expect this ----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOWo8X84fSM I would reccomend an RB30T fairly straight forward swap, cheap and you could DIY. An RB25 could be used if you want a cheaper engine, But ...

The only other thing, To get the most out of it, You might want to look into aftermarket ECU options. Depends on who tunes it, They can tune it to your needs. My previous hotted up turbo car, I had seperate maps for different occasions. Max power map for track day's, A fuel efficent "everyday ...

That looks like a cut down truck core welded together.. Toss it in the bin and get one that has the flow to suit the turbo. Have a look on www.justjap.com for some "reasonably priced" Front mounts that are of decent quality. Truck Intercoolers are ment for truck turbo's. In saying that I had one on ...

I vote Engine conversion.

I would say the cost of turbo'ing a standard carb engine would be more than say buying an RB30 Turbo.

tuning draw through carby turbo setup's is a dark art, get it wrong and POP go's the weasel.

That's a T3 Garret Turbo found on the RB30 and FJ20 not the RB20 (twin T 25's). Would it suit the 4.2L, Yes, If it's due for a rebuild, have it highflowed with a T4 compressor and enjoy a much smoother boost curve throughout the rev range, and of course extra ponies. I had that setup on an FJ20 in ...

I tried removing the core on the beach, but it escaped my fingers and I had to start again.

Maybe set them 2 psi higher than you expect and "ARB twig" it from there.

Travelling over corrugated dirt roads, I used mine for the first time last week, I used the preset 18psi deflators and worked well. How accurate is your tyre guage? I have 2 pencil guages that give different readings, and my dial guage also gives me a different pressure, my air compresser reads 5psi ...

If the Vitara is a "Hair dresser's car" A Feroza is the Apprentice Hair dresser's car. In my opinion, The Vitara is tougher, It's a Suzuki. Daihatsu's arn't really known for their durability. Mine being a 1.6L EFI it's still very easy on the fuel and parts support is very wide. I chose the LWB ...

Similar to what happened to me.. He measures out 4mts got them mixed up and gave me the rest of the roll by mistake. I took my time screwing them in with self tappers, I used a washer to spread the load and prevent ripping the rubber, They are definitly not going anywhere. I thought they might warp ...

I had a 2.0L turbo Lancer with just over 200kw using a 1.6L (F5M22) gearbox, 5 puck ceramic clutch and lightened flywheel. At 180kw It lasted 8 years, but only 6 months when the boost got turned up. The KM210 from the Hyundai sonata are stronger and have better gear ratios, LSD's are available from ...
