Patrol auto hubs can easily be converted to manual operation. It doesn't make them any stronger, but stops them clicking and unlocking when you don't want them to.

Yes that's standard. Very easy to fix, I've done it to mine. At the moment your switches are set up so the front locker switch gets it's power from the out put side of the rear switch (so front switch only gets power when rear switch is on). All you have to do is find the 12 volt wire going to the ...

As above, and also, front axles are 31 spline, rears are 33 spline.
If only some one would start manufacturing aftermarket 33 spline front axles, then every one could have cheap front LSD's.

I just preferred the way the 4 speed felt to drive, more positive gear changes. I heard that rumour about a factory lift kit when the Territory's were first released, it never happened. Aftermarket suspension or a good set of bash plates are about the only options. Your tyre options are going to be very limited (as you've already found out) because no one is really modifying ...

Modifying the suspension on cars like that can have negative effects on the stabillity control system, so can changing tyre types and sizes.

It could be a thousand diffeerent things. If it wasn't getting enough boost it would be blowing black smoke. One possibillity is a blocked exhaust. Trying dropping the exhaust before the first muffler and see how it goes.

Just a thought on the idea of the WRX motor. Being a flat 4 boxer motor they are very wide, so packaging it in the engine bay could be a major issue. I'm not saying it can't be done, but there are probably easier options that will still get the power you want. Nissan SR20DET comes to mind.

Something has shorted the wiring to the starter or starter relay. If you're OK with a multimeter it shouldn't be too hard to find the cause.

I've heard of it happening when cars are on fire. The insulation on the wiring melts, shorts out, and the burning car slowly drives itself down the road!

2.8l had those gears. The 3.0l got 4.3 gears. Tony Careful though, the GU ZD30 has the H260 rear diff, not the H233 that the GQ and GU 2.8 has. Only some did. Idenetifiable by the HH on the Build plate. Only manual 3.0, 4.5l and 4.8l got the H260 rear diff. All auto's got the small diffs. Tony

GU diffs are about 40-45mm wider than GQ. You might get away with the drag link, but the rod end threads will be wound most of the way out, not worth the risk IMO.

Drag link and tie rod will be too short. Panhard rods should be OK being a ute, they stuck with smaller GQ size chassis end bush when the wagons went to the big ends.
