Yes I put a GU 4.6 into my gq wagon, the only think i had to change was the yoke where the centre nut is as the GU's have a different holes setup and will not fit to a Gq tail shaft.

As long as its not a H260 (rear) from a GU. Some of the manuals (ZD30 and TB45) have H260's.

The most sought after (out of 2.8's) with the 4.6's are H233, so you're good!!

Bummer!! It must have come out of manual TB45 or TD42T? All I know is that they are physically HEAPS bigger.

Anyone else able to offer any assistance?

Measure the diameter of the crown wheel. H260 = 260mm. H233 = 233mm.

Not all TD42T's have H260's

Just replaced the rear diff in a GU 2000 TD42T and it was running HG39 Diffs which are H233B 3.9:1 Ratio

I'm not sure what the 'rule' is with diff sizes and ratios etc. BUT, I thought manual TD42T's had 4.1's and 3.9's were auto's (attached to TB45's)
