Thanks guys for your help. For the life of me I can't find any grommit on the rear of the Drum Brakes to adjust them. In the vehicle specifications it says the brakes in the rear are self adjusting, so I wonder if that means that they can't be done manually...? I think the way the arm connects to ...

Do the fixes and adjustments (adjusting the rear drum brakes with a flat blade screwdriver) the same for the new Model Hilux does anyone know.
I have the new model with the ARB OME suspension lift and my brakes are terrible....

Hilux Snorkel

John, Thanks, please let me know if it improved economy by turning the snorkel intake around backwards. I might stick a stocking or something over mine to restrict the air being rammed into it. Hilux snorkels

I have heard from several people that due to the new Diesel hilux motor being electronic and computer controlled, that fitting a snorkel actually decreases fuel economy due to the ram factor. As the air is forced into the intake (due to the snorkel intake facing forwards) it changes the pressure in ...

Yeah the features of the Alpha canopy are slightly better (being the front drop-down window for easy access to cab rear window, better rear handle and water drainage) and they are both made in Thailand. Plus the Alpha was about $600 cheaper, but not sure if the quality is a good as the Carry boy ...

Dan, I reckon that since you are paying, they should wire it up any way you want it ! You are in Sydney and there are heaps of ARB stores, just find one who will do it. Shop around for cheaper prices. Its actually easier to wire up they way I did it, in that you don't have to run wires through the ...

Long Range Fuel Tanks for the new hilux are made at a place called "Out of Town 4WD" at Barnsley in Newcastle. Hilux Tyres

Thanks for the reply mate, I was actually considering the Coopers ST's (Suretrac), not the STT's.

The ST is 60 / 40, where the STT is 40 (on road) and 60 % off road.

I havn't heard too many complaints about the Cooper ST's. Anyone else owned a set and got any comments about the ST's ?

New Hilux Diesel - Oil Change procedure

Anyone done an Oil change themselves on the D4D yet?
Is it easy and anything to look out for?

Anyone want to give a Gumby's guide todoing it?
Would be much appreciated. I am about to do my first one as I can't keep paying Toyota to do it every 5,000KM.

Cheers,
Rich.

AT Tyre availability for New Hilux 15" SR5 Rims

I am having a nightmare trying to find some decent rubber for a new model SR5 Hilux. I want a good All Terrain Tyre but don't really want to have to spend big $ replacing the Rims. The biggest problem is sticking to the Load rating of 110. BFG AT's, Coopers and all the big name brands do not make a ...
