Re: rear diff buggered
They are pathetic because they leak, not because they break - from what i have seen they are the best part of unbreakable.

Re: rear diff buggered
Yeh, It has had a hard time, though from what i have read if its properly engaged, it shouldnt break. So i was very careful about that.
Air leakers are a pathetic bit of junk, but they dont break teeth i guess.
I will pull the locker down tomorrow, and see what i can do about it if anything.

Re: rear diff buggered
Well problem found.
I have a factory rear air locker in the rear. It is missing all but 6 of the teeth in the locker section.
The diff whine is likely a result of having so much metal in the oil.
Not sure what to do now, locker is a must. I dont want an ARB air leaker.

About 2 months ago my rear diff pinion seal started leaking, NJ 3.5 diff. Diff had correct new oil about a year ago. I have been checking the oil every week until i get the chance to do the seal, the oil has never been down any more than 10mm. This week i have noticed the diff getting noisy, a ...

Re: My L67 NH SWB
I traveled a fair few kms on the weekend, so had the opportunity to do some precise fuel economy maths.
So.. 13.6 litres to 100ks.
this is with 33 muddies, 4.6 diff ratio's. Mostly highway driving at 105-115kph, + a bit of suburb driving with a few spirited moments.

cheers mate, both my diffs are out of '98 '99 models so i should be right.
Interesting to note too that my car is factory manual gearbox v6 but had the smaller 7.5" , 4 pin centre front diff in it, so not only the autos and deisels had them, maybe some shorty too..

Yep same as bogan spec ecotec. mounts are custom, I dont know if the marks stuff would work as i only used their adaptor and nothing more. welding would be required regardless of what you used. Re: It's done, at last! 2.6L turbo EFI...
T piece into gauge hole is fine for the feed. Return should be full gravity drain, you may need to spin the housings on the turbo to get your drain facing downwards. Yes weld fitting into sump. make sure it is above the oil level line in the sump. Old matey here may have run the drain into tappet ...

Re: My L67 NH SWB
Thanks mate. We worked the economy out at 13l/100ks a few months ago, so i guess its not too bad now. I used to have a k&n filter in it, this is a big dont do with the airflow metered cars apparently, so going back to a paper filter and cleaning the MAF got me an extra 40ks to a tank. I think the ...

A bit of of an update with this thing. Has been serving as my wifes work car since it was regoed, has been extrememly reliable, but a thirsty pig. Nah, not as bad as your 300zx- they copped a real bad reputation until it finally came out that the real issue was lack of maintenence. Re: I know your answer allready ........ BUT .....
I bought my nh with blown head gaskets, the guy blew a hose and kept driving. I agree that i see quite a few 3.0 v6's for sale for this reason. I think one of the reasons would be there is quite a lot of external water plumbing on the 3.0, much more than most v6s i have worked on. with the age of ...

cheers mate, no skid pics, noone was home to take them, quite sad really.
Shocks are neither, they are way too long for a jero, will be some relocation of upper mount involved, probably lower mount too i think, will get to putting them in soon.

Nah the hill is called "little red", there is also a "big red",
they are both quite well known, but have got a heap harder since the floods at the start of the year, plenty of footage on youtube of both hills and various attempts.
