i have been through a number of ball joints. just like your shoulder, when you dis-locate the ball in the socket.

most of the time, the castle nut is loose, and you just need to tighten it up.

i have 4" of lift on the back of my green vit, and super long shocks, which meant the ball in the joint ...

looks like you've already got your mind set on a 'kit' from the states.

calmini would be my preference bar the BL. i am not a fan at all of BL, as i used to run a 3" in my previous vitara.

I have fibreglass aftermarket flares. they are about 70-75mm wide from the guard. i got them from FRP (fibreglass replacement panels) and you can get them in a black or white gel coat finish. gel coat is not UV stabilised, so you will need to paint them, unless you dont care.

my 89 carby vit has the plate on the door. my 95 efi has it recessed into the rear bumper.

the early ones had a plain bumper skin which was pretty uniform all the way accross.

initial install will gain a bit of lift, but as i found out, with any brand and type of spring in the front of vits, they do settle a lot.

i'm running with 960's and 954's in my SWB soft top vit. gained about 30-40mm all round. which is ok considering the book says its a 30mm lift for the wagon ...

are you talking about the rear preportioning valve? there's a spring that controls it and as the car get loaded up a lower, the spring pulls down on the prop. valve. the calmini arm has the spring bracket built in and should work ok.

on my green vit, i just took the spring bolt off ...

with 3" suspension, i wasn't able to run 31"s on the front of my vit.

the 31"s were on 15x8 steels rims with 3" bs.

i had to trim the back of the front guards a little.

tyres, you're not worried.

but you're front guards won't be liking you very much.

you need more lift, either sus or BL or cut the guards.

i use all OME in my vit. i have OME struts, shocks and coils. i gained just under 3" of lift from suspension alone.

i also did the strut mount flip properly, and i have no problems at all with bottoming, or topping out when driven hard.

OME vit struts are 40mm longer than stock in the stroke ...

i've had 31" swampers on my vit before. keep in mind tyre weights. some tyres, are not as heavy as others, such as a GY MT/R compared to a simex ET, or swamper tsl in the same size. weight of the tyre(s) will contribute greatly to power loss. also contact patch friction in terms of tyre pressures ...

ps. if you get a vit, take the plastic sill covers off. they will hold moisture and mud and rust the sills out.

comfort and lift? imho would only be OME suspension.

OME front struts are 40mm longer than factory stock struts and are an oil hydraulic type, and the rear shocks are 50mm longer (part number N32) than stock designed to suit the OME springs.

you will find a much better ride on and off road, and ...

i don't bottom or top out either shocks or struts.

don't go commo, too stiff, just like the rancho's. they are longer to suit bigger 4wd's. you should get some OME shocks.
