A knocking that speeds up and down with the revs could be a few things. Whats the mileage on the motor and how often have you changed the oil? 2.8's do big ends in stock form let alone turbo'd form
id save my money and leave it alone.

my susgestion is to plug it into a dignostic computer because it sounds like a sensor of some sort

Injectors? How many k's on the rig? EDIT: if the fuel filter is blocked, it just wont make power/flat spots. air filter will cause black smoke due to not enough air to burn all the fuel and i think white is unburnt diesel aswell, im not sure if a air filter blockage will cause this but i know that ...

change your fuel/ air filter glow plugs as mentioned , injectors, how long ago were they done? fuel gauge reading wrong ? mine was out huge.

yeah its 65 liters , went for a drive lastnight and did another hundred km's of driving and its still not empty yet

hey guys i have an 84 hilux, its desiel but have no idea on size of my tank
i have a feeling my fuel gauge is reading really wrong , causing me to think im getting bad consumption.

i mean bad as in 300-330 kms a tank

body lift doesnt affect your brake lines, body lift all it does is lift the cab.

had a wheel alignment and the adjustment is already wound out as far as it can go , was told that it needs longer bottom arms ,
which makes sence to me

When I did my BL, I just measured the bolts that came from factory, and got some HT bolts that are 2 inches longer, flat washers and nyloc nuts. how long does it get driven before it gets turned off? The colder months make it use more fuel as the car takes longer to reach normal operating temperature. Your injectors could be blocked or pump might need a reco, but that would mean more black smoke? it usually gets driven within a 10 km ...

the injectors are original and so is the pump , nah i havent got a fuel leak , thats one of the things i checked for.
my lux has had a rebuild (minus injectors and pump) its just done over 12000 km's atm.

hardest thing is getting the gearbox in and out.
i did it with my 2.4 hilux. its just a case of remove to old seal check for any marks on the housing tap the new one in. put flywheel clutch and gearbox back on.
the seal wont cost you anymore then $20.
