Re: No vin or manufacturers plates, what can I do?
you don't need to do anything if the car was previously registered with that VIN/Chassis number.
all you need is the VIN number and current engine number.
Just get a blue slip for it and go pay your greenslip and rego.

a quick and painless upgrade is to point a single blue or red LED to the cluster from the top of the steering column.

Re: Can I put a GQ RD28 into a GU RD28?
the gq rd28 came out with 2 different head-vacume pump configs
one had the vac pump on the valve cover and the other on the alternator
if you have a GQ one that is the same config as ur gu it is the same engine.
the sumps are interchageable
if u ask me stick to the td42

Re: Fiting a Gq factory locker any help please??
sorry when i meant by solenoid was the diaphram on the diff. you have to vent teh opposing port on the locker when you activate either one. so when you lock, the unlock port must vent to atmospehere, and vice versa, this may be your prob? my cam is not huge but my truck idles at under 800rpm, it ...

Re: Fiting a Gq factory locker any help please??
Ive mucked around with it alot now with an air tank, but it only engages like 1 out of 5 times? Starting to think its not supplying enough vacuum from the engine? there may be a leak or a prob with the solenoid. my cammed 383 has enough vac to keep it locked solidly. PS: youe air compressor is also ...

if your on a tight budget, and if you dont know much about what you are doing with rebuilding an engine and the costs involved AND you wanto sell the boat, i would just chuck a standard cammed 351 or even a 302 clevo back into it. it will have plenty balls enough for the boat as is . a second hand ...

Hey guys just brought a factory locker for my Gq all I've got is the complete diff rear diff (no lines, soleniods or air tank) I've read about people by passing all the soleniods and just using a 5 way valve saying that this works better?? 4b fabrications specialise in this stuff. They recommended my cam and heads all suited for low down torque. It has a lot more then standard pos ls1. But still terrible. Am I wasting my time trying to better it? Would a good auto box better it. Or? if the power is coming on at 4000rpm their ...

Re: Ls1 gu patrol, lack of torque, need advice.
you need to cam it and dial it in for low down torque. this will drop your HP numbers down but it will give you useful torque where you need it. about 2000rpm most engine builders will sell you alot more torque and HP and when its installed it will give you that, but too high in the revrange and its ...

hi mate
bj42's came with factory fitted 5 speeds so aside from the top plate being wrong it will bolt up without a problem.
if you can find a bj42 5 speed top plate even better ( if i could find 10 0f these i would buy them all hehehe)

injected chev late or early?
you can get your origional tacho recalibrated to accept a 4cyl signal to work with the LS series injected chev or if your chev is early injected you get it recalibrated to suit 8cyl.

best thing to do first is flip the manifold first so that the throttlebody is facing the passenger side first, then you can utilise a commodore airbox and plumb it straight into your snorkle.

you could have blocked lpg filter
could need to adjust the mixer/converter
may have a faulty mixer.
could be alot of things, do you have a complex or simplex system?
