..Down here, we see quite a bit of 'compression' on the 110's that are up at the base for servicemen to hire when off duty.... (..They seem to have trouble staying on the road...) Result...They kind of compress all over really, 'bout as wide as a Suzi Heap, short as a 90 & roof level with bonnet ...

Adapters for doing this are available from Simmonites of Bradford in UK, & from at least two specialist fabrication places in US. Not that cheap....around US$240 per axle...but they just bolt-on.. I would'nt risk Suzi wheels on a Disco.....the vehicles must be rather different in weight are'nt they ...

Thanks for the interesting info on how to properly 'tweak' a pump Ben, thats most interesting.....could be useful for dealing with the various Perkins motors we have...! The Snowy Mountain Authority vehicle may have been ( or been based on ) the concept vehicle which Roadless built to trial the 'big -wheels' idea. It appears to have a Series 1 front axle (or swivels)....in some closer-up pics I have somewhere in a magazine, you can distinctly see the lever arms ...

Can't access the 'pirate' link....but guess its same as the ones we have. A couple of factory-built 1-ton style 109"safaris came down here (before the 1-ton itself was evolved)....one of them belonged for many years to my uncle who owned a neighbouring farm....We have it now, stashed away a-waiting ...

Lock-Rights are good value too...simple, fit & forget, tho you do have to alter your driving technique a bit to use them on pavement ...They mail through post..

One-&-a-Half Tonners...!! :lol: (...What you get when they're 'half-price..!!) :roll: ..& after we fitted new GoodYears (12.50x 18)....these are around 36" tall but are well suited to the gearing.. (..The engine..24v V8..is currently dead & going to be replaced with a Perkins 3.8)
