Make a box front shaft, very easy. Do a search on here as it has been explained extensively with photos.

One little rule you can go by is 1/3 of the shock travel up and 2/3 down. Measure the distance between the shock mounts and go from there.

Installation of reduction gears Lt230
Hey guys received my 49% reduction gears for my Lt230 and was going to install them myself but reading through the instructions and knowing how much they cost me I might leave it to a professional  . Just wanting to know who people recommend in the Sydney area? Main thing being they have done ...

Re: 200 series live axle
Sounds like a cool idea, if you've got the money go for it. Look up Consulmotive and speak to him. We might be doing a coilover sas on a 2000 hilux and we told the bloke to ring him first to see if he would engineer it and he said as long as it's safe he'll pass it.....

Crawl ratio
Hey guys just wanna check that I'm getting the right numbers when calculating my crawl ratio. Specs are a VZ 6 speed, Lt230 1.21 case, 4.88 diffs and 49% reduction gears.
Cheers

Re: Axles
I find the biggest thing with the kingpin bolts is them coming loose hence uneven forces causing them to snap. So heavy on the lock tight!
Re: Axles
Well worth buying the ARP hub studs and kingpin bolts. I snapped all my hub studs on one side out wheeling and it's not much fun trying to get the snapped ones out even with ezy outs....
Re: Axles
Longs up front with cromolly hub gears, ARP studs. Stock rear axles and only broke a rear axle once....
Re: Axles
Well they arrived on Friday after a month. DHL lost them in hong king for 2-1/2 weeks.
Very happy with how they look come PRE GREASED and shiny.
Only got the inner hub gears oh well theyll be right.
Now just to go brake my old ones befor they get replaced
Why not fit them before breaking ...

Re: What to do?
I used to run a DTS but Denco's are also good or you can go the cheap way and grab a CT20 off a surf....I'd say stick with the 2 inch lift it has. It's IFS so I personally don't see the need to go any bigger. Maybe some new shocks if the old ones are stuffed.

Re: Hilux diffs
I don't see why you wouldn't just put an ifs rear diff in to start of with. It's not like anything major has to get changed around either. Straight bolt up and chuck your centre in. They're so cheap! Wheel spacers are dangerous. I used to run them, my mate borrowed them anrd one day out wheeling he ...

Re: pics and info on comp rigs
Very clean looking rover but it doesn't seem to be working very well. Looks very stiff lifting wheels. Any pics of it articulating?
In the video, I only saw it lift a front left wheel whilst climbing a hill with the right rear dropping into a hole...which 99.9999999% of 4WDs would do in the same ...
