luxes have always had bad cv's problems, especialy the oldshape.
the front diffs are that small, up till 89 were a decent sized front diff, later ones went, tiny...

i bought an 88 model as my first lux,straight as a die,brand new tyres,only needed a pink slip and i payed $1000.
253 is worth fark all especially since its not engineered and probably needs a blue slip

2'' leafs from locktup 4x4 and a high steer kit should do the trick for the front suspension.
Then id go 2'' bodylift to clear bigger tyres,should be able to clear 35's and drop them well below the sill with decent length shocks also.
For the rear id use locktup4x4 leafs aswell as the springs are ...

What type of gloves are you using?
if your using gauntlet gloves then try thinner TIG gloves,theyre allow alot more movement and its easier to bend your fingers/hand if you get what i mean.

Hey mate i can fit it all up for a couple hundred bucks, i even have a spare steering box mount kit.
Im in newcastle though,i could come to you and bring welder,tools etc but would cost extra.

Ended up pulling the diff plate off and could see the sun gears so i just filled it all up with weld.Took about half hour.
Why waste money on shimming a diff when its just a basher and the shims dont last long.

Got the old navara over at the property and wanted to weld the diff up,im pretty certain its an LSD,can you still weld it up?
